"... floorboards of old Cape Cods don't accommodate the discreet and memories were rising out of the cracks, merciless as blackflies."

CuriousG What a great quotation - I'm so intrigued now! What are your thoughts on the book overall? 3y
TheKidUpstairs @CuriousG not life changing, but it was a quick, enjoyable read. I really liked the main character, and there was a lot of humour and heart to her story. And, personally, I loved the oh so Canadian references 🇨🇦 3y

#WeeklyForecast @Cinfhen
I just started the tagged book and I imagine it will be a quick read. It's part of the #CanadaReads longlist and I just couldn't resist the title!
Then it'll be on to either The Mothers or Bookwoman for #NewYearWhoDis - any suggestions of which to read first?

Cinfhen The Mothers is a quick read/ it was just ok for me 3y
valeriegeary I loved The Mothers. But I've heard such good things about Troublesome Creek. I don't think you can go wrong here. 😅 3y
Deblovestoread Haven‘t read The Mothers yet but Book Woman was one of my top reads of 2020. 3y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks The tagged one sounds interesting 🧠3y
