so-so🌟🌟🌟 I enjoyed Rachel, Wyatt, and Mrs. Greenwood but leading up to the end I felt it was kinda bland. I don't regret reading it though.
I'm really liking Wyatt in this story. I feel like he's a character I could be good friends with. His vibe is very chill and laid back but he has a sense of caring to him that I can relate to.

so-soA modern day retelling of Rapunzel with personal tragedy, ghosts, missing kids and magic this book should have been something to talk about. But it wasnt. I've started and abandoned this one multiple times. Its a bit difficult to get into and while the story does eventually pick up, it was never really as enthralling as it could have been. It's hard to put a finger on why but for me it just didn't work. A shame, because the cover is stunning.
so-soThis was a strange, but unique take on Rapunzel, featuring missing girls, magical drugs, and domestic violence. The writing isn't that great, but the story kept me intrigued, mostly because of how weird it was. Be warned though, it is heavy on the instalove, which I had to whistle past to get through lol I did like that there were lots of bookish references (and Star Trek refs too, oddly enough) and a Rapunzel character with agency.
Something about winter always makes me crave fairytales. Just settling in with this Rapunzel retelling.
