Judybskt @AmyG this is from 2015. I wish I could go there! The store is in Oxford MS where my daughter went to college. She graduated last May. 4y

Love Square 💙 Books! Oxford is great book culture. Couldn't resist. Really curious about Lies that Bind, a staff pick.

My last stop for my epic bookish weekend was Square Books in Oxford. I had so many people tell me I had to visit, and it was amazing! There are actually three locations on the square: the main shop; a second location with "lifestyle" titles, gifts, and some used books; and a children's store. I bought a bunch of cookbooks at Off Square Books and rectified my lack of Faulkner at the main store. I stayed an hour later than I should have! ?

robinb This pic makes me a little homesick. 😊 Glad you enjoyed your Oxford visit...it‘s a wonderful little town. 💙 If you go back for another visit, go by Faulkner‘s home (Rowan Oak). It‘s not far from the square and worth the visit. (edited) 5y
ferskner @robinb I did! I talked about it in the post before this one. It was very cool! 5y

BarbaraBB Awesome! I‘ve been there once too, long ago. Loved it! 💜 5y
robinb @ferskner oh good!!! Sorry I missed that post. I‘ll go look it up now. 👍 Did you go to his gravesite as well? 5y
robinb @BarbaraBB Cool! I grew up about 20 minutes from Oxford. Worked for 6 years at Ole Miss (The University of Mississippi) before marrying and moving to Alabama. 😊 5y
BarbaraBB @robinb In the 90s I travelled through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. I was deeply impressed and fascinated by the states, the nature and the people. Oxford was one of my favorite places that trip (with New Orleans of course, and the bayous and the pre-Catherina coast, and so on 😀) 5y
robinb @BarbaraBB That sounds like a good trip to represent the South. I‘ve lived in 3 of those states and yes, I‘m a bit partial, but I love the area and am happy to call it home. 😊 And yes, New Orleans is a must! 5y
TrishB And I got very confused and thought I‘ve never seen that bookshop in Oxford.....(UK) 5y
LeahBergen Yayyyyy! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 5y
ferskner @robinb No, I missed that. Where is he buried? 5y
ferskner @BarbaraBB That sounds like an amazing trip!!! I never thought I'd live in this area, but I've really enjoyed it. 5y
ferskner @TrishB haha I know! Apparently, the town was named Oxford in hopes of getting the state university to be built there. 5y
