Sophie has long wished to get away from her stepmothers jealous anger, and believes escape is her only chance to be happy. Gabe knows he defied his parents Rose and Wilhelm by going to find Sophie, and now he believes they had a right to worry: the orphan girl has stolen his heart. I didn't really care for this book. As a Snow White retelling it is okay, my mine issue is with the main character. She is so perfect that I didn't find her to be relatable or interesting. This fits with Snow White, she kind of is known for being pure as Snow. But, something was needed to make me actually care about her. Some of the other characters were stereotypical, there isn't much to them.

I have 2 books I have chosen for the Snow White retelling: The Fairest Beauty by Melanie Dickerson and The Sleeper and The Spindle by Neil Gaiman. Just finished listening to the tagged book. It was retold from an interesting perspective.
