This is between a pick and so-so for me, and I‘ll round up simply because I‘m not the intended audience. As others have noted, the pacing isn‘t great, but as this is the first in the series, I‘m hoping they get better. The lessons aren‘t too heavy handed and I love that Princess Rowan recognizes kindness is better than being forceful and demanding. I‘ll read the rest since I have an ARC of book 4 coming and I‘m betting the can‘t be stand-alones.

Now that this series is complete I can finally start it 😊 Sometimes you just need to read a middle grade series 🤪

This was a cute MG fantasy book. It was just not quite right for me. I think it started off too slow for me, and I had a hard time getting into it.

I loved this book. It was so much fun. It started off a little slow for me, but once the action started it didn‘t stop. This is a girls kick butt book, and the guys are not left out either. Plenty of saving the princess and the princess saves herself. Loved this book and I can not wait to go dig book 2 off my shelf.

A fun fantasy middle grade about a princess who wants to prove herself worthy of inheriting the position of Royal Monster Hunter. So many fun mythical creatures--jackalopes and griffins and unicorns-- in this and I really enjoyed Rowan's voice.
