Beckett, If youre reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didnt. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ellas raising the twins alone. Shes too independent and wont accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. Its too much for anyone to endure. Its not fair. And heres the kicker: theres something else you dont know thats tearing her family apart. Shes going to need help. So if Im gone, that means I cant be there for Ella. I cant help them through this. But you can. So Im begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family. Please dont make her go through it alone. Ryan

Absolutely Beautiful! All the feels! I‘m an emotional mess in the best way. I loved the letters at the beginning of each chapter from either Chaos or Ella. Definitely a new favorite of mine. #bookspin

I am an emotional puddle on the floor. HOLY MOLY! Can't say it any other way. Each chapter begins with a letter either written to Chaos from Ella or to Ella from Chaos providing a window into these two characters separately from the primary dialogue. When Beckett shows up at Ella's home, the reader knows he is Chaos, but she does not. What a roller coaster of emotions. It is a “romance“ but so much more.

1. A deeper bond with my boys due to life slowing down during quarantine.
2. Self care is critical.
3. Much more. Almost double to goal.
4. I tagged my most anticipated read of 2021.

Finally, my first five-star rating (not counting my re-read/listen of The Grace Year). I was wondering if I'd become too jaded, too unfeeling, to really let a story get under my skin anymore. This book not only got under my skin, it even made me cry, It was actually quite heartbreaking. ⇣⇣⇣

So, it's taken me a while to decide if I wanted to read this one. After hearing loads of praise for THE LAST LETTER, I decided to jump. I've been warned though that this may be a tear jerker. I think I'm ok with that. I need a book to give me all the feels. How about you? Have you read this one yet? What are YOUR thoughts on it?

Mehso-so

The writing quality is top notch, with relatable protagonists and supporting characters. Yet the narrative overall is too much. There's an unnecessary, gut-wrenching twist near to the end. What happens before that point is angst-ridden enough. Adding to it is a step too far, adding gratuitous drama. It's a shame.
The ending is satisfying in a way the loose ends are tied. That aspect I'm happy with and as a conclusion, the story has stayed with me.

If ever there‘s a book I could get lost in and connect with so much, it‘s this. I was told this would be emotional but I wasn‘t expecting to feel so much. I wept the last 50 pages and will definitely have an emotional hangover tomorrow. Rebecca Yarros writes in a way that I felt the characters inside me. All of them. Ella. Ryan. Chaos. Beckett. Maise. Colt. I felt a part of each of them as I uncovered their story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is not usually my genre, but the synopsis grabbed me. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. This will give you all the feels and have a few tissues handy. This was the perfect palate cleanser for me.

1⭐
My feelings after just finishing this:
• Was that last 10% necessary? Really?
• You keep rooting for the main characters to find their happy ending, and just when you think everything's going to be OK, you get blindsided.
• All that heartache, suffering, and loss for just that one person?
• I skimmed through the rest after that last big thing happened. I just couldn't get over it.
• This would have been a solid 3.5⭐ if not for that last part.
