A heart-expanding novel about four Latinx teens who make New Years resolutions for one anotherand the whirlwind of a year that follows. Fans of Erika L. Snchez and Emery Lord will fall for this story of friendship, identity, and the struggle of finding yourself when all you want is to start over. From hiking trips to four-person birthday parties to never-ending group texts, Jess, Lee, Ryan, and Nora have always been inseparable. But now with senior year on the horizon, theyve been growing apart. And so, as always, Jess makes a plan. Reinstating their usual tradition of making resolutions together on New Years Eve, Jess adds a new twist: instead of making their own resolutions, the four friends assign them to one anotherdares like kiss someone you know is wrong for you, find your calling outside your moms Puerto Rican restaurant, finally learn Spanish, and say yes to everything. But as the year unfolds, Jess, Lee, Ryan, and Nora each test the bonds that hold them together. And amid first loves, heartbreaks, and life-changing decisions, beginning again is never as simple as it seems.

What are your #ReadingResolutions?

Mine, so far:
Appreciate and read what I already own.

That‘s it.

Gissy Me too but I can‘t put myself in a book ban because it doesn‘t going to work. But read more books, definitely is my goal in 2021, and maybe subscribe to an audiobook company. I have audible but there you have to buy the books and they are so expensive, is like buying the book twice. I want a company where you can borrow audiobooks. I think I can improve my reading speed by using audiobooks🧐Which one you both use? 3y
BookishMarginalia @Gissy We have the public library (Orange County, Florida allows non-residents to purchase an annual library card — I recommend that!). Scribd is also good for borrowing audiobooks. 3y
TravelsWithBooks @Gissy Definitely get a library card, if you don‘t have one already! Then attach it to Libby(or whatever app that supports your library). I borrow most of the audiobooks I listen to. Sometimes there is a wait, but it‘s worth it just to borrow and not buy. 3y
jessinikkip My goal is 121 books in 2021, and that doesnt count work books on my Kindle, only books I already own or bring in this year. Not necessarily banning myself because that wont work but just making sure I read what I have and read more than I bring in. 3y
Gissy Thank you! 3y

I read this book #setonNewYearsEveDay last year, and I'm still thinking about it. A group of high school friends assign each other resolutions, and things (naturally) go sideways. At the same time, I loved the Latin American representation, and how much these friends loved each other. #AuldLangReads

This book about Latin American teens would have meant the world to me as a kid, & even as an adult I was DELIGHTED. I liked how it shows sometimes the people who love us see who we are more clearly than we do ourselves. In this case, however, the friends get more than they bargained for. I esp. liked how these kids were not super rebels or overachievers (except Jess), but regular kids. So refreshing & relatable, I could read this over & over.

Today was my Spring Break day to myself! Went to a local winery and it was lovely to read all afternoon! I forgot to take a photo, but this was the book I finished. A YA about Latin American teens! This would have been everything to me as a kid, and I'm so glad it exists.

I wasn‘t sure what to expect when I picked this one up but I adored it! Told from multiple POV from 4 best friends who make resolutions for each other. The story takes place over the course of a year and each friend is at a #crossroads and facing some difficult situations. The Resolutions was a heartwarming story of friendship filled with a diverse cast. I loved how this story played out and how all the characters interacted with each other.
