This is a smart mix of horror and political/social commentary. The art is very well done and the visual horror elements are satisfyingly disturbing. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I‘m not usually a fan of graphic novels but this was excellent. Interesting take and entertaining to see how these monsters and ghosts feed off racism and hate and how only the POC seem to be able to see them. Even if you aren‘t a comic fan, the story is hard hitting and leaves you thinking

Infidel came to my attention a few days ago, courtesy of NPR's massive best of the year list. I was also intrigued by being selected for 100 Favorite Horror Stories, an author curated list well worth checking out. Infidel has one of the most terrifying opening scenes in recent memory. Aisha, an American Muslim woman lives with her husband, step daughter & mother-in-law in an apartment building that is the site of a recent tragedy. Themes of race👇

vivastory cultural identity, religious beliefs & traditions are discussed & never in didactic Twitter sized messages. Very timely for our current situation, yet the underlying paranormal events are timelessly terrifying. Great characters, great story. Jordan Peele needs to adapt this into a movie! 5mo
Suet624 You mentioned terrifying twice. This just might not be for me. 😂 5mo
vivastory @Suet624 I don't scare easily, especially not with graphic novels. But there are several scenes that are deeply unnerving. 5mo

vivastory @GrilledCheeseSamurai @readordierachel I think you'd both dig this! The writer is the former editor of Unwritten. (which I still need to check out) 5mo
readordierachel whoa, I just checked this out from the library on a whim last week! It was on display. It sounds awesome. I'm excited now! 5mo
vivastory @readordierachel I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it! It's such a smart story, never taking the easy feel good route & I just loved the characters. 5mo
GrilledCheeseSamurai Yaaas! I have this in single issues! Great story. 👏 5mo
vivastory @GrilledCheeseSamurai I am planning on reading Unwritten next year. I was already looking forward to it, but I'm even more excited now. 5mo
GrilledCheeseSamurai @vivastory The Unwritten is one of my favorites of all time. The story changes and evolves so much throughout the series...and it focuses so much on the written word and how stories affect us...it truly is a gem and I can't recommend it enough! 👌 5mo
Reggie Is there not a movie on Netflix of this? Or there is a movie that sounds very similar to this on there. 5mo
Angitron This sounds amazing! 5mo
