This graphic novel mostly focuses on Jesse, Mercy Thompson‘s stepdaughter. But it made me want to go read the original book series, so I‘m going to go do that.

jmtrivera Have we not discussed my love of Mercy Thompson? I have nearly all of them (in actual paper!) that I can lend you. 😊 3y
AlizaApp @jmtrivera oh GOOD! I just put number 2 on hold at the library, but maybe next time I see you I‘ll grab a few! 3y
jmtrivera @AlizaApp Please do! Happy to share! 3y

Well, last night I read the Moon Called graphic novels - which were good if not great. Today I read Hopcross Jilly. Again, good but not great. I liked Jesse‘s strength of character and it‘s interesting to see the visual depictions of these characters. But overall I thought the story was just ok.

I LOVED seeing Zee without his glamour, though, and while the resolution felt rushed I liked that Adam didn‘t have to regret anything.

I almost forgot to do the drawing for the #MercyThompsonGiveaway. Only two people entered. I put the names in a hat and had my mom pick one. If @TricksyTails would please email me at CatLass007@yahoo.com , I can get these mailed out next week.

CatLass007 @2BR02B , thanks for entering. Could you please email me too. I have a proposition for the two of you. 6y

Although I have seen LOTS of comics and graphic novels by women on Litsy that I would love to read (Nimona, Phoebe and her Unicorn, Lumberjanes) I haven't yet.

#ComicsByWomen that I do own, are those that tie into a female authors long running series. Blood Work is the first graphic novel in the Hollows series, followed by Blood Crime. Homecoming and Hopcross Jilly are Mercy Thompson and the Otherworld Primer Kelley Armstrong.

DrexEdit Mercy Thompson had been on my TBR forever! Are these graphic novels from books? Or are they originally in graphic format? 7y
Bookworm54 @DrexEdit originally in graphic format. Though there are a few based on the first book of the series Moon Called. Homecoming is set before the series, Hopcross Jilly after River Marked. 7y
Leniverse Ooh! I need to get the Mercy Thompson ones then! I thought they were just transplanted from the books. I read one that was from the first book and it was ok but... didn't add anything for me. I'll check out Homecoming and Hopcross Jilly. 7y

DrexEdit Excellent! Thank you! 👍😊 7y
Bookworm54 @DrexEdit no problem! @Leniverse I would definitely check out Hopcross Jilly. Jesse is quite a prominent character in it :) 7y
Leniverse Sounds good! 😃 7y

Another #comicbeto. I liked this one a lot. It was like reading an episode in a procedural I don't normally follow. It was a good mystery and cool magic. Characters were done well. I would read another mercy Thompson story.

jmtrivera I love Mercy Thompson! Have you tried the novels? 7y
Nitpickyabouttrains @jmtrivera this was my first one! But I liked it a lot 7y
jmtrivera @Nitpickyabouttrains There is a series of urban fantasy novels too. I have nearly all of them, and I can lend you the first if you're into that sort of thing. 7y

I have been wanting to read this for AGES! I was so incredibly happy when I opened my first #CupidGoesPostal package to find this! 💕💕💕

Although the characters weren't what I imagined, the illustrations are beautiful, and I love the family dynamic ☺❤

TrishB Yay 😀 glad you liked it. I have to admit to knowing nothing about the author or the series! 7y
Serotonin What! This exists? Must. Get. 😆 7y
Bookworm54 @serotonin Yes! It takes place just before Night Broken. ☺ @TrishB I loved it! If urban fantasy is something that interests you, then the Mercy Thompson series is a great read. ❤️ 7y
sherryvdh Ooh, I 💗 Mercy and Adam! I haven't seen this before. Must stack! 7y

Mehso-so

Work today was cold and soggy and my glasses kept fogging up - such are the questionable glories of being able to work outside 2days2xmas - so, I'm revisiting comfort books now that I'm home and it's (of course) sunny. I'm giving this a solid "it's fine" rating: tho a die-hard Mercy Thompson urban fantasy series fan, this comic didn't add anything to the story of bk 1 & I could take or leave it, despite enjoying seeing how others envision chars.

There are so many books on my tbr Santa that I would be happy with any number of them. This one has been on my list for a while though, and you know how much I love Mercy and the gang 😇🎄🎁
