@TheAromaofBooks Thank you so very much for the book mail surprise, Sarah! I would have posted sooner but we had a storm rip through & have no power. When I can get internet at home again (terrible cell signal there & the system is currently overloaded), I‘ll take a picture & upload it. Thank you so so much! Your note & the tagged book really brightened my day. You already do so much to keep Litsy engaging. I appreciate you! ❤️

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! I'm so glad it arrived safely!!! I've also been offline for several days, so I know how life happens! 😂 Hopefully your power has come back on - dumping rain here now; I feel like I'm living in a rainforest! 2y

I struggled a little with rating this one. Overall, I liked it. Reena is a great character and Bo is super hunky while still feeling like a real person. Reena's large, happy family provides so many fun and happy scenes as well. There's a sort of thriller aspect to this story, but as the reader, you already know who the culprit is and know what he is doing before Reena even realizes that she is being targeted. It is one of those situations that ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) consequently makes the MC look a little dumb for not putting the pieces together earlier, even though the pieces span like twenty years so it makes sense that she hasn't noticed what is going on.

But the main reason that this one is off my shelves instead of staying there for a reread like most of Roberts's books do is because there is a pretty dark rape scene that I felt like was too much. I was already borderline about this one ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) because I don't like reading books where we get all up in a crazy villain's head and hear about how much he enjoys seeing people suffer and this one was already doing that somewhat, and that scene just - no, thank you, I didn't need that.

Still a soft pick, though, because the not-villain scenes were just what I want from a Nora Roberts book, and I really loved the main characters a lot.

A few more books out of the windowsill for this week's #BookReport - I bailed on Baby Teeth, which just wasn't for me. Read both Of Curses and Kisses and its sequel, and also finished The White Cottage Mystery and the next Bridgerton book. A solid if not outstanding batch of books this week. Just started Blue Smoke last night. I'm also chapter-a-day reading Ivanhoe, North & South, The Other Bennet Sister, and Into the Forest. Of Mice & Men was ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) also completed, but wasn't on my windowsill because I just drew the number for it on Tuesday haha

@Cinfhen I'm reading Into the Forest thanks to your review and really enjoying it so far. The author is doing a great job making the story very personable.

Cinfhen I LOVED Into the Forest!! So happy you are reading it and I HATED Baby Teeth!! It‘s one of the few books which made me SO ANGRY!! It was nonsensical🙄 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - I read maybe 40-50pgs of Baby Teeth and was like... is this going anywhere? I don't feel like this is going anywhere. So I skipped to the end because I'm one of those terrible people who happily reads the end of a book without bothering with the middle bits 😂 and decided it was NOT worth my time! 2y
Cinfhen Good call on Baby Teeth!!! It was SO OVER THE TOP RIDICULOUS. I know people loved it for its escapism but that‘s obviously not me 😂😂 2y

Norah Roberts lives in my birth state of Maryland. My mother used to love reading her books, and I inherited a copy of this book from her. It is about a young arson investigator who is followed by a deranged arsonist. Don‘t know if I still own it. 🤔 #burn #heatofjuly

I found this image on line because I just couldn't locate my copy. It belonged to my mother. The story is about a young woman who due to the experience of a family fire in her past, becomes an arson investigator. TBR pile. #girlonfire #lyricalapril

Cinfhen I love that this book belonged to your mom💙it's great to share a love for reading with family 😍 7y

I've read this several times - one of the bests from Nora Roberts. This woman's writing lead me to a whole new world of books. Blue Smoke is one among my top five by the author. Did you know that there's the movie version as well? But as almost always, the book is much better than the movie!
