I did nearly bail but so glad I carried on because I loved it. Such a great book with a fantastic ending. Not read a bad Tremayne book yet!

pickFinished this today. A very atmospheric, gripping and in parts highly eerie read. Vivid, beautiful landscape descriptions of the bogs and tors and tiny villages of Dartmoor in foggy nights and a coherent plot combine to a great psychological thriller. I flew through the last third of the book. Best read on a dark, stormy night. 😋 4/5*

I loved the previous books by this author and was able to get a copy of this one super cheap on Book Depository! Maybe I‘ll actually find the time to read this one in the next year or so but....🤷🏼♀️
pickThis was a brilliant novel, in the dark and atmospheric setting of a Dartmoor winter. I love S.K. Tremayne‘s voice - she paints really believable, flawed characters and always manages to weave an interesting narrative with plenty of twists and turns. I enjoyed this even more than ‘The Ice Twins‘, which has a similarly sinister, atmospheric backdrop. Highly recommended!
Time for a new book! I really enjoyed ‘The Ice Twins‘, so I‘m expecting this to be a decent read. I‘m stuck in my bed for the next two weeks, recovering from surgery...I‘m so grateful for books and films right now! 😊
pickI get a bit fed up of generic thrill-less thrillers so this one made a nice change. While not hugely original or inventive it is solidly entertaining and actually does what it says on the tin - thrills! Writing is tight, plot moves on nicely, plenty of suspicion, misdirection & suspense. Fantastically evoked setting adds to creepiness. Denouement had me eating my knuckles - great fun! 😳
