Eraser
Eraser | Anna Kang
6 posts | 7 read | 2 to read
Eraser is always cleaning up everyone else's mistakes. Except for Ruler and Pencil Sharpener, none of the other school supplies seem to appreciate her. They all love how sharp Pencil is and how Tape and Glue help everyone stick together. Eraser wants to create so that she can shine like the others. She decides to give it a try, but it's not until the rubber meets the road that Eraser begins to understand a whole lot about herself.Inspired by a school essay their daughter Kate wrote in the third grade, the author and illustrator behind Theodor Seuss Geisel Award-winner You Are (Not) Small have created a desktop drama about figuring out who you are, finding happiness, and the importance of second, third, and maybe even fourth chances.

This is ironic. I thought I'd like this book. I start the year with a basket of new pencils. Not replaced until they get too short. Which means the kids run through the erasers in the 1st week of school and then that's it. It's ok, because everything they do in my room is practice, there's no getting finished (I don't allow them to say they are done). I thought this book would be relatable, but it was ALL OVER THE PLACE. and kumbaya?

What an original idea! We all know that pencils. pens, chalk, rulers, brushes all have use when creating something. But the eraser? The quiet and humble eraser makes everyone look good by cleaning up their mistakes.

Guaranteed to make children smile. Provides opportunities to discuss messages all children need to hear: the value of self-worth & self-respect, & the importance of second chances.

Perfect for ages 3 - 7 years

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have never waited this long in the month to choose my #AmazonFirstReads pick. I was so torn between two titles, but went with this one to see if I could get my kid into reading books on the phone/tablet. This is a cute little story about an eraser having an identity crisis and trying to find her place among the other school supplies. Sweet and punny.

For August‘s Amazon‘s First Reads I picked Eraser by Anna Kang and illustrated by Christopher Wyant. This is a cute story how Eraser finds her worth within the supplies. The characters are cute even if there are some punny jokes.
If you have Amazon prime, I hope you‘re selecting your free book at the beginning of each month!
