Just booked a vacation to #Hawaii! It‘ll be our first real vacation since covid and really our honeymoon. It‘s for our 5-year wedding anniversary. We wanted to do Hawaii for our honeymoon but couldn‘t swing it after paying for a wedding.

Does anyone have recommendations? We are hoping to visit Oahu, the Big Island, and Maui. Pearl Harbor, helicopter tour and a luau are already planned.

Tagging the only 2 littens I know that are in Hawaii! 😗

JenReadsAlot I was on the big island (Kona) for the Ironman a few years ago and did a tour of the island and loved Kona brewery for both the beer and pizza! 2y
BookmarkTavern Congrats on the anniversary! And enjoy Hawaii! ❤️🌴❤️ 2y
Hooked_on_books There‘s lots to do on the big island and you definitely need a car. They can sometimes be in short supply, so make sure to reserve your rental early. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a can‘t miss for seeing the most active volcano in the world (currently erupting). If it‘s erupting while you‘re here, be sure to see it at night for the lava glow. That‘s the best part! 2y

Hooked_on_books On Kona side, where most people stay, there are a couple spots where manta rays feed at night. I‘ve done the manta ray snorkel a couple times and it‘s incredible. Look for a company that has fast boats, since that way you get more time in the water. There‘s a tsunami museum in Hilo which is interesting. And then there are a lot of farm tours, coffee, cacao (chocolate), Mac nut. 2y
Hooked_on_books You‘re also welcome to come to my anthurium farm if you‘re interested. I can walk you around (we don‘t have a formal tour, but I enjoy showing the place to people) to see the flowers. There‘s 5 acres of plants and we are about 12 miles from the entrance to the National park. Just let me know! 2y
Laughterhp @Hooked_on_books Yes! I think we are going to try and go to the volcano park for 2 days since it‘s so big! And stay near it. I really want to do snorkeling too! I‘ve never done it before. I would love to see your farm if we have time! Do you want to give me your email? 2y
Hooked_on_books Sure, it‘s hollybarker13 at yahoo. We‘re an easy stop when you‘re near the park and you can usually see what you would want to see at our place in about an hour. I think it‘s great you‘re planning to stay near the volcano. A lot of people just come over from Kona and only spend a couple hours in the park, but there‘s so much more to see than that. 2y
inthegreensandblues How fabulous! 2y
marleed I hope you have a blast! 2y
DebinHawaii Definitely Pearl Harbor is a must on Oahu. I‘d also do the North Shore, hang out at Waimea Bay (I actually really like Waimea Falls too—in a botanical garden), get a shrimp plate from one of the trucks & get shave ice & later chocolate haupia pie at Ted‘s Bakery. Lots of hikes are good if you are into that. For Maui, I love upcountry & the Ali‘i Kula lavender farm, winery, Surfing Goat Dairy, etc. & shopping/eating in Paia & Makawao. 2y
Laughterhp Thanks @DebinHawaii !! I did see Maui had a winery that we were planning to go to. I‘ll have to look up all your other suggestions. Thanks so much! 2y

I recently got back from Hawaii - visiting the in-laws, especially my mother-in-law who‘s recovering from knee replacement surgery. My little guy did a wonderful job in cheering her up ?

Here are my highlights from the trip:
- Obsessive resuming of Pokémon Go - who wants to trade trainer codes ?
- Taking my little guy to the beach
- And eating taro pie from McDonald‘s

Loved it!

#hawaii #pokemongo #beach

kricheal I'm re-obsessed too! This is my trainer code 8281 1224 3498 6y

Serotonin @kricheal I‘m so sad now. I don‘t get any Pokémon sightings where I live - totally different from my in-laws place in downtown Honolulu ? sighs.... 6y
kricheal @Serotonin I live in the suburbs of Pittsburgh and the town I live in, I live in the historical district of it so there are a few pokestops because of that. I've been going to the biggest town in our county about 15 minutes away that has about 20-25 pokestops clustered together in their little downtown parks. 6y
kricheal But..... downtown Honolulu sounds preferable to just about anywhere 6y
keys_on_fire Just sent you a friend request! 6y
