June wrap up... June was a pretty low month for me, so I didn‘t get much reading done… Or anything else really for that matter. However, out of the books that I did read, I would have to say that The Delphi Effect and The Whispers and the Roars are my top two. My bottom two are Creedence and A lady of Rooksgrave manor. No bingos this month for #bookspinbingo

4.3⭐️ I really enjoy the story much more than I thought I would. Some slight trigger warnings, but nothing too intense. The story has enough to keep you guessing and wondering what happens next.

3✨ I enjoyed the story line of a girl who could absorb spirits to help them find peace. Then on spirit leads her down a mystery to find others with abilities. I got a little lost on the relationship connection with several characters and lost track of where they were and who they were with. This is also my #doublebookspin for June.

Wow, I flew through this one and will certainly return to finish the series. I think it‘s YA but good adult crossover appeal - fast paced look at what happens when a “gifted” teen, who picks up ghosts in her travels, runs afoul with a government secret group to study others like her. It‘s a mystery, a thriller and a little sci-fi. Definitely a win for my first spot in bookspin bingo.

Trashcanman @GardenJess I know what you mean.

Dang it! I wasn‘t going to start anything new and yet here we are. Reading it for next months book club - author is appearing on our Zoom. Great deal on Amazon and I‘ve flown through the first 5 chapters - can‘t put it down. Has anyone read it? I‘m a sucker for “ghosts speak through me” supernatural mystery type stories.

#YAApril
I have 2 other books by this author on my kindle so I‘m hoping this was a “it‘s not you it‘s me” situation. I think I was just distracted while listening to the audio and didn‘t get invested in the characters. A 17 yo can “pick up” the ghosts of dead people and gets in deep after picking up a girl who was murdered. Some cool paranormal abilities on display here but I just didn‘t get into it.

TerriGreen Ok so how did I not know about YAApril? This one sounds kind of weird. 4y
Tracyantoon @TerriGreen #YAApril is part of #OverbookedClub. May is #monthofmemoirs and June is #historicalfiction. They do buddy reads or you can add # to any books you read that apply. I‘m sure you‘ll have lots of those for June! 4y

I love Rysa Walker‘s books. I have read most of her Chronos Files, which involve time travel, but hadn‘t heard about this series. Her books are YA and full of adventure, and this one includes supernatural “gifts.” The main character, Anna, hears ghosts in her head. Spirits attach to her to get help with unfinished business. Her most recent hitcher leads her into trouble because the people responsible for her death are also after Anna for her gift.

This was a great start into the trilogy and I will sure pick up the other books. I enjoyed this as much as the Chronos Files. Rysa Walker seems to like to create these strong and a little broken female leads and she does it well.

I feel like I've been working on this one for weeks--it's good, but dense!

I loved Rysa Walker's Chronos Files so so much. Her new book is a perfect Halloween-season read. It's great for anyone who loves a conspiracy theory or anyone who's intrigued by ghosts and supernatural powers. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
