She's felt it before...the fear of losing control. And it's happening again. In the near future, an aggressive and terrifying new form of dementia is affecting victims of all ages. The cause is unknown, and the symptoms are disturbing. Dr. Gillian Ryan is on the cutting edge of research and desperately determined to find a cure. She's already lost her husband to the disease, and now her young daughter is slowly succumbing as well. After losing her funding, she is given the unique opportunity to expand her research. She will travel with a NASA team to a space station where the crew has been stricken with symptoms of a similar inexplicable psychosis--memory loss, trances, and violent, uncontrollable impulses.Crippled by a secret addiction and suffering from creeping paranoia, Gillian finds her journey becoming a nightmare as unexplainable and violent events plague the mission. With her grip weakening on reality, she starts to doubt her own innocence. And she's beginning to question so much more--like the true nature of the mission, the motivations of the crew, and every deadly new secret space has to offer.Merging thrilling science-fiction adventure with mind-bending psychological suspense, Wall Street Journal bestselling author Joe Hart explores both the vast mysteries of outer space and the even darker unknown that lies within ourselves.

Finished this on the way to work this morning. This was a #blameitonlitsy read. First book by this author. A great medical thriller, mystery, part sci fi, psychological thriller. I think it can go in any of these categories. Some may even say horror but I wouldn't necessarily. I don't know what to say about it without giving anything away but read the description. I definitely recommend it!

I've been listening to this book on audio while driving too a d from work. It's really good! I think I'm almost done. It's a total #blameitonlitsy because I hadn't heard of it before reading a review on here recently.

I devoured this book!

This is a mix of sci-fi, psychological thriller, mystery, and horror... all set in space! What is really happening on the space station where crew members are showing symptoms of a rare neurological disease?

Several direct references are made to Stephen King‘s “The Jaunt”, which made me both squee with joy and shudder in horror because that story sure has stuck with me.

tracey38 Sounds good! 4y

From psychological/suspense thriller, mystery, science fiction, to climate fiction, dystopian and even a touch of horror, this book ticks off all those boxes. Throw into the mix a well developed, character driven plot, refreshing setting and intelligent, smooth as butter writing and you have a gripping, intoxicating, unputdownable and unpredictable read that I absolutely devoured. Brilliant!!! A favourite of 2019! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #netgalley

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 stars
I loved this audiobook. The narrator was amazing; made me feel like I was trapped with Gillian - the constant fear, claustrophobia, and doubt. The story combines sci-fi, horror, and suspense into a gripping adventure. As much as I thought I knew about how it would turn out, I was still surprised.

This was a decent enough thriller, but I didn't love it. The writing style wasn't anything amazing, and a lot of the story beats (if not the specific plot points) were predictable. But it was entertaining enough for me to finish, so I'll round up to ⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Ever since I finished reading The Gone World I've been searching for another book with that mix of mind-bending sci-fi & truly disturbing horror. This probably won't be that book, but the description sounds promising.

5/5🌟: This book is so addicting! It is a total mind trip. If you like sci-fi, READ THIS. If you like thrillers, READ THIS. If you like a book that messes with your mind, READ THIS BOOK. I hope to read more Joe Hart books in the future.

The leading researcher into the newest dementia plaque, driven by the loss of her husband and signs that her daughter maybe next, delves herself deeply in hopes of finding a cure against the newest disease. Joe Hart developed well rounded cast of characters in this thrilling science fiction mystery. His organic way of binding both genres kept me reading all night. Great read! #netgalley #arc

This book had some interesting theme combinations. I liked the exploration of memory and personality and the importance of identity. I would have liked more exploration on the science end of things. The ideas were great, but the execution was average and the ending was predictable.

GarthRanzz I was so excited for this and was enjoying my ARC until they reached Mars. I haven‘t picked it up since and I‘ve already gotten the final release copy. 6y

I won a free copy of this book through Goodreads! I didn't really think those things were for real! I will have to hone my review writing skills. Some of you write the most beautiful reviews and I'm over here like "it was good." All giddy and excited now! It's a sci/fi thriller and it looks like it could be good.

Bklover I‘m with you on the review writing skills!!! Mine tend to use the word “amazing” a lot! 6y
Karkar I am glad I am not the only one who feels like they have subpar review writing skills. 😊 6y
BridgetteM Congrats! I have entered like a million of those things and have never won. 6y
