My name is Rex. I am a good dog. Rex is also seven foot tall at the shoulder, bulletproof, bristling with heavy calibre weaponry and his voice resonates with subsonics especially designed to instil fear. With Dragon, Honey and Bees, he's part of a Multiform Assault Pack operating in the lawless anarchy of Campeche, south-eastern Mexico. Rex is a genetically engineered Bioform, a deadly weapon in a dirty war. He has the intelligence to carry out his orders and feedback implants to reward him when he does. All he wants to be is a Good Dog. And to do that he must do exactly what Master says and Master says he's got to kill a lot of enemies. But who, exactly, are the enemies? What happens when Master is tried as a war criminal? What rights does the Geneva Convention grant weapons? Do Rex and his fellow Bioforms even have a right to exist? And what happens when Rex slips his leash?

🎧📚 This book was so much more than enhanced cyber dog weaponry.

I loved Rex, Honey, Dragon, Bees.

I wanted to shake Rex and tell him no!!! Bad dog! You don‘t need your old master.

I was captivated. Good audiobook and nice hardcover.

I recommend it if you‘re looking for a good short book! It‘s a book for almost everyone.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“My name is Rex. I am a Good Dog.”

I‘m excited to read this!

Glances at humongous TBR.

This looks great!!! It was a surprise! It was delivered really fast!!

TieDyeDude Nice. I've enjoyed his Made Things world, but haven't read any more of his 2y
Twainy @TieDyeDude yesss! I really enjoyed Made Things! Plus I like the cover! It‘s on my Amazon Book Wishlist. Great novella & want to read more from that world. Guns of the Dawn & Cage of Souls were great and I think they‘re stand alones … and radically different. Ones a flintlock fantasy with a female protagonist & the other is uhhh dying Earth far future sci-fi. Happy reading! 😁 2y

Adored this book - it's pretty different from my usual reads, as it's a lot more sci-fi based and focuses primarily on technological advancements and the emotional and societal conflicts that humans have with such developments taking the form of animal-like 'robots' essentially.

The author does a superb job at getting you attached to the protagonist Rex despite his typically intimidating demeanour, definitely recommend this!

I'm a fan of Adrian Tchaikovsky anyway, but this was mesmerising. It asked and answered questions I never even thought to ask about the future, and challenged the concept of 'human'.

I absolutely loved this story. My mind is blown and my heart hurts over the half-human half-animal killing machines that deserved better.

Yet another Adrian Tchaikovsky book came in the #bookmail, this one about uplifted dogs used as weapons. It sounds a bit like Grant Morrison‘s We3 which... I... I‘m not crying... I‘m just remembering... with tears.

If you like sci-fi, give this book a chance. “I‘m Rex. I‘m a good dog.” Imagine the future where bioforms are used in wars. Augmented dogs, impossibly tall and scary, capable to understand and follow orders. Do they have rights? Are they just weapons? What happens if their master gets tried for war crimes? Excellent read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TricksyTails Sounds fascinating! Adding to the TBR. 6y
