Quite a short book, I did enjoy it! It's mostly consists of dialogue between characters and is less descriptive than more modern works, but the story is intruiging nonetheless. Reading though the main character's contradictory fantasies with his 'ideal' woman proved interesting, a decent read if you're interested in 50-shades type works.

Wow, it's so refreshing to finally be reading about racism in the no-bullshit way that Reni writes it, which is exactly how we should be talking about it if we ever want to truly develop positively as a society for the benefit of genuinely everyone. Every chapter was rich with facts, fair reasoning, and a lot of information about Britain's heavy involvement is a racist history that simply isn't taught to us, despite how important it is. Recommend!

One word - Wow. This book takes a very well researched and psychologically 'backed up' approach to our modern gendered mindsets, concisely giving feedback as to how they harm not only women (althought mostly women) but also the men of today. This is an amazing and necessary read for literally anyone, whether you identify as a feminist or not.

Phenomenal read that takes us through the history of female political power and capability from the 1100's to the 1500's. The moving tales of many royal women who exercised what authority they could in what was of course a very female-oppressive society in the medieval ages, leading up to the admirable unmarried reign of the incredible Elizabeth - a must read for absolutely anyone.

A thought provoking introduction into a Zootopia-esque world that displays the birth of mystery, discrimination and constant internal and external character conflict into the story.

Very thought provoking and a gruelling insight into the psychological field with some of the darkest people imaginable. Perfect for true crime fans!

The Testament of Loki | Joanne M. Harris

Not so much based on Norse stories like the first book, this is more like 'fanfiction' from the author about the Gods coming to Earth to recreate Asgard after Ragnarok. Deals with some dark topics but also comedic at times like the first read in the series.

The Gospel of Loki | Joanne M. Harris

A fun and likeable read, it's a more 'immature' and comedic take on Loki's experience through Norse mythology tales, does a good job of getting some chuckles from you and potentially sympathising with Loki's (probably bias) view on things.

Let me start by saying that the show is an oversexualised and unnecessarily dramatic mess compared to the genuinely amazing, if sometimes unpleasant, journey that Piper went through in her time in prison. The way she talks about the things that she witnessed, learned and took from her time 'locked up' are inspiring, and I am so grateful that she shared her perspective with the world.

A fantastic read for anybody!

I was excited to read this as it offered a much more nuanced and 'historical' view of the lesser-developed hunger games period. I enjoy this book 85% of the time, sometimes it felt as though the author tried too hard to make Lucy 'the mysterious quirky girl' and some parts seemed unfortunately rushed, plus I honestly didn't like the ending, but it's a quality read that I say people should give a go.

Adored this book - it's pretty different from my usual reads, as it's a lot more sci-fi based and focuses primarily on technological advancements and the emotional and societal conflicts that humans have with such developments taking the form of animal-like 'robots' essentially.

The author does a superb job at getting you attached to the protagonist Rex despite his typically intimidating demeanour, definitely recommend this!

Great third book to the series. Left some character cliff-hangers in the end, I wish the author would deliver a 4th book in the series, but so far this has proven to be my favourite trilogy of all time!

A great sequel in the 'Echoes of the Fall' series, contains less dramatic physical conflict than the first and is more centred on plot and character development which is brilliant, an amazing read!

One of my favourite reads ever so far, perfect for people who love therians or werewolf-esque type stories. A lovely mix of violence, religious themes, inner conflict and all around animal based social structures.

Loved this book, evokes a wide range of emotions and doesn't force a fairy-tale perfect ending which suits the characters.

Enjoyed this book a lot, its not too heavily directed toward children as it contains some heavy themes and scenes so it's still appealing to the adult market definitely!
