Eve & Caleb 1 - Wo Licht war
Eve & Caleb 1 - Wo Licht war | Anna Carey
9 posts | 48 read | 39 to read

This is the most tropey YA dystopian I've ever read. The MC Eve is completely oblivious and selfish, the plot had such good potential but execution wasn't great, though it had a fast pace, there are a lot of time skips. Romance was instalove which I usually don't mind but it did not work well for this anti male story. Ending left on a cliffhanger but it's a wonder I got through this book at all, so I definitely won't be continuing with the others.

I'll be the first to admit that white-girl-in-a-dystopian-america is NOT a new concept. But this story blew me away. Everything Eve has ever known suddenly comes crashing down around her and she has to find the courage and strength to bring down an entire regime.

I'm listening to the audio book Eve. Sorry I haven't been on here lately. I've been so busy with work. It's hard to find time for reading lately. I'm really enjoying this book. I'm halfway done with this book. #litsy #booklover #kindle #kindlefire #paperwhite #library

This reminded me of a mix between Hunger Games, Divergent, & possibly even Romeo & Juliet. Eve is about to graduate at the top of her class, but the day before graduation.. She founds out what they really have planned for the graduates.

“As Caleb cradled the deer‘s head in his hands I wept harder than I ever had. For here it was, waiting for me all along: death, inescapable death, everywhere. Always.”
