From the author of Dream Things True and The Radius of Us comes a story of two teenagers learning what to hold on to, what to let go of, and that sometimes love gets in the way of our plans. Back when they were still strangers, TJ Carvalho witnessed the only moment in Vivi Flannigans life when she lost control entirely. Now, TJ cant seem to erase that moment from his mind, no matter how hard he tries. Vivi doesnt remember any of it, but shes determined to leave it far behind. And she will. But when Vivi returns home from her first year away at college, her big plans and TJs ambition to become a nurse land them both on the heart ward of a university hospital, facing them with a long and painful summer together three months of glorified babysitting for ngel, the problem patient on the hall. Sure, ngel may be suffering from a life-threatening heart infection, but that doesnt make him any less of a pain. As it turns out, though, ngel Sols has a thing or two to teach them about all those big plans, and the incredible moments when love gets in their way. Written in alternating first person from the perspectives of all three characters, Flight Season is a story about discovering whats really worth holding onto, learning how to let go of the rest, and that one crazy summer that changes your life forever.

I Loved this book it made me feel so many different feels. Vivi just finished her first year of college and it didn't go well at all. She is dealing with the loss of her father and trying to figure out what happened on night when she made a stupid choice. When she starts an internship at a hospital she mets TJ but she doesn't remember him. She also mets Angel a patient. She doesn't know meeting them will change her life forever! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Lovesbooks87 Now I am off to order the authors other two books from Book Outlet. So much for my book buying ban! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ 5y

This was such a lovely YA book that considered some tough issues like grief, finding your path, and illegal immigration with a lot of empathy. The romance was sweet, but it was the friendships between the three main characters, Vivi, TJ, and Ángel, that really stood out. Overall, an enjoyable read for fans of YA realistic fiction.

I won this YA ARC recently in a Goodreads giveaway. I haven't read it yet, but it seems to be about two young college kids who develop a friendship working in a hospital together one summer and before long they become #kidsinlove.

Just got approved for several new books on #netgalley, and wow I've really got some catching up to do now!

kate_reads The Beauty That Remains is great but a doozy. I was so emotionally drained after. I‘ve also got Tess and I‘ve heard awesome! (edited) 6y
rachelsbrittain @katekrug I'm about halfway through Tess and enjoying it and only just started Flight Season. I'm glad to hear The Beauty That Remains is good-- guess I'll have to make sure I have some tissues handy for that one! 6y

Marie Marquardt may not be Latinx, but she writes about the Latinx immigrant experience with authenticity and empathy. Love her books!
