Scribe: Irin Chronicles Book One | Elizabeth Hunter
"THE SCRIBE is a perfect marriage of urban fantasy with tinges of romance." --Killian McRae, author of 12.21.12 "5 Stars ...this may actually be THE best thing I have read this year." --Douglas Meeks, Wicked Scribes Hidden at the crossroads of the world, an ancient race battles to protect humanity, even as it dies from within. While ancient forces gather around them, both Ava and Malachi search for answers. Whispering voices. Deadly touch. Their passion should be impossible... or it could be the only thing that will keep them alive. THE SCRIBE is the first book in the Irin Chronicles, the new paranormal romance series from Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries.

I'm not a huge romance reader, but I thoroughly enjoyed this. I liked the supernatural elements and found the story compelling-- I had trouble putting it down. Definitely going to have to read more of this series. Glad you got me to read it @sebrittain

4/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I haven't done any artsy bujo spreads in a while, but I was feeling inspired to do a tracker for my new year reading goals (I'll still track all the books in list form, because doing something fancy for that would be insanely too much work)

Thanks @julesG , you mentioned this series in your post and I‘ve just finished the first book. So good I immediately downloaded book 2 onto my iPhone. Ava, hears voices and always feels like an outsider until she meets a mysterious man. Is he a bodyguard or a kidnapper? All the feels! Including tears 👍😀

julesG Glad you liked it. I recently discovered there are more books than just the trilogy. Apparently Hunter wrote some spin-off books, which I still have to get to. 6y
Dragon Thanks @julesG that‘s great news! Lots of great reading ahead 👍🎉 6y

Chachic Oh yes to onion rings!😋😋 7y
Cathythoughts I don't like raw onions either. I saw them eating them like apples in Spain once. Takes all kinds ....... 7y
julesG @Cathythoughts There is this one sort of onions that are pretty sweet. Can't remember the name. But I've been told you can eat them like apples. 😵 7y

I'm cheating a little by using a series. While the Irin are descendants of the angels, the Grigori are descendants of #FallenAngels. In the first book, they do not have individual names, but are a collective threat to the main characters, Ava and Malachi. So, I tend to think of Grigori collectively as one character. If I get any more specific, I may tread too close to spoilers. A lot happens through the three books. #Characters2017 @LibrarianRyan

This was a very good and unexpected read. It's a romance! Just a heads up, but also so much more! Free!!! Can't beat that! #bookbub

This is a holiday short story in a series that I love. I couldn't tag it, so I just tagged the first book in the series. #christmassyreads #seasonsreadings2016

It was good, not great, but I'm really looking forward to going further into this world. It was a great "I'm super busy and tired" read, if that makes sense.

Reading on my phone at work today was killing my battery, so I went into my settings and noticed this. @Litsy is OFFICIALLY where I spend all of my SM time!! 😍📚💜🤓

LauraBeth I've deleted the FB app from my phone until after the election 😁 8y
BookishFeminist LOL. Mine too. It's addicting. 😍 @LauraBeth I deleted my FB app indefinitely over a year ago and I'm not mad about it. 👍🏼 best decision for my mental health I ever made is to stop going on Facebook. 8y
LitHousewife I have a feeling I would find the same. ☺️ 8y

Eyelit You inspired me to check my usage, and litsy is at a close second place to Two Dots (it's been s stressful week and I've been playing that game like nobody's business)! Love that this app is getting me to read more (and more diverse books as well). 8y
QueenAnne Hihi my phone exactly! 8y

I enjoyed this, though felt some of it was slightly rushed. Was this written before or after the Elemental books? I adored that series, and this didn't quite live up to that. However I enjoyed it enough to read the other books, and book 2 has just downloaded. 👍🏻
