Originally published in 1892, some parts were difficult to read with the tales being translated from Gaelic into English, focusing on the fact this book was to be marketed to English children in the late 19th/early 20th century. I would have enjoyed this collection more had it been annotated or had there been more of an explanation of the history and lore around the stories.

I actually don‘t own any plaid, but plaid made me think of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 & Ireland 🇮🇪 which made me think of my Celtic Fairy Tales book.

I do love fairy tales and folk tales. Off the top of my head though my #favefairytale might be Gold-Tree and Silver-Tree, which is in Celtic Fairy Tales (and possibly also Scottish Fairy Tales? I do have that one too but lent it to my neighbours 2... 3?... years ago and have yet to get it back. Note to self, get that back). #backtoreading
