This story had everything: family drama, thrills, mystery and rope walking! Rundell‘s imagination will captivate every reader both young & old.
Sophie is an orphan but she is convinced her mother is still alive,the reader is taken on Sophie‘s thrilling adventure over the rooftops of Paris and is taught never to ignore the possible.
I‘ve read quite a few books now by this author, she really is a class act.

My kids liked this more than I did, which I suppose, is to be expected for a middle grade title. We listened together on audio and in my opinion it was very slow. Although, I agree with one of the reviews on goodreads that said this has a very “classic-feeling” to it. It was a very sweet story about “never ignoring a possible” as an orphan goes in search of her mother. Good to read a hopeful book right now!
pickOne unexpected find lead to another! I picked up a copy of Midnight Chicken & Other Recipes to Live For at my library and feel in love with the stories and the food. The author makes a lot of connections to the important books in her life. One of these was The Rooftoppers. A magical middle grade story of Sophie's hunt for her long lost mother and her discovery of so much more!

pickThis book is flawless. Words cannot possibly do justice to the quality of the storytelling , the richness of the characters or the shape of the plot. Everyone should read this-it's the written word at its finest!
pickKatherine Rundell is fast becoming my favourite children's author. This was another beautiful book and it just about had me sobbing at the end. I'm loving her beautifully written yet unusual stories with fantastic female main characters. I'd say this is suitable for age 8+. Five ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ from me. #raisingreaders
so-soThis book fell apart for me...all that build up and then nothing? Really? Also, more annoyed than i should be that the time period was never revealed.
Some funny lines and an interesting story so far. I love reading about a loving but ramshackle childhood.
