Color of Fear | Marcia Muller
3 posts | 2 read | 5 to read
In New York Times bestselling author Marcia Muller's captivating new mystery, private detective Sharon McCone's investigation hits closer to home than ever before... THE COLOR OF FEAR When a knock on the door in the middle of the night wakes Sharon, she's wholly unprepared for the horrifying news: her father has been the victim of a vicious, racially-motivated attack. A nationally recognized Shoshone artist, Elwood had been visiting Sharon for the holidays, browsing for gifts in San Francisco's exclusive Marina district when he was set upon by a mob of angry young men. Now he lies in a coma, hovering between life and death. With little progress on the investigation from the overworked, short-handed police, Sharon resolves to track down Elwood's attackers herself. But when Sharon begins receiving hate-filled, racist threats from a shadowy group, it becomes clear that her pursuit of justice may be putting her own life in jeopardy...

Caught up and am ready for the newest Sharon McCone mystery (waiting for my hold to come in). I liked this one and getting to know Sharon‘s birth family a little better. I like how Marcia Muller brings in current day events into a great mystery.

Pickpick

Satisfying Sharon McCone mystery. Captures our current political climate even in traditionally tolerant cities (SF) and how insidious hate is empowered to be more open. Better than the last few books.

#TBRtemptation post 6! Soon to be released. I love this cover! This is the 32nd(!!!) installment in the Sharon McCone series. Either this is a good, popular series or Muller is obstinate 😆. Sharon's father, a well-known Shoshone Indian artist, is attacked by a mob while shopping for her, and he's left in a coma. With police coming up empty, she resolves to track down the attackers. She gets racist threats too. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

bookwrm526 It was a really good series that's been slumping a bit (in my opinion) in the last several installments 8y
minkyb Gee, I am wayyyyyyy behind in this series. That number is daunting. 8y
