Confessions of an Imaginary Friend (UK)
Confessions of an Imaginary Friend (UK) | Michelle Cuevas

Jacques Papier thinks that everyone hates him. After all, teachers ignore him when he raises his hand in class, nobody ever picks him for sports teams, and his sister, Fleur, keeps having to remind their parents to set a place for him at the dinner table. But then Jacques discovers an uncomfortable truth: He is NOT Fleur's brother; he's her imaginary friend! And so begins Jacques' quest for identity ...what do you do when you realise that the only reason you exist is because of someone else's imagination? The whimsical "autobiography" of an imaginary friend who doesn't know he's imaginary - perfect for fans of Toy Story, The Imaginary and Moone Boy.

Confessions of an Imaginary Friend is one of my favorite middle grade novels (right up there with Wonder). It's about an imaginary friend having an existential crisis when you realizes he isn't real. I highly recommend this "memoir" to both kids and adults as it's witty, funny, and so cute!

This is a pretend memoir, but I'm counting it for #MarvelousMemoirs on #AwesomeAutumnBooks

Just as I was really starting to enjoy this book I hit a part that made me go, huh? Quickly after though it redeemed itself. This book is for anyone, young or old, who has had an imaginary friend. It gives you moments for pause and lots of food for thought. What if we could all be like an imaginary friend, a support system, for those we care about?

To tell the truth, I was beginning to think you would be in awe of anyone if you saw the parts of them that no one else gets to see if you could watch them making up little songs, and doing funny faces in the mirror; if you saw them high-fiving a leaf on a tree...or just being really different and lonely and crying sometimes at night. Seeing them, the real them, you couldn't help but think that anyone and everyone is amazing

I love having the time in the summer to read books from my school library collection. I always feel better about recommending a book I have read. #teachersoflitsy #librariansoflitsy
