Jamie Fraser and Lord John Grey work together to prevent a Jacobite uprising in Ireland.

Interesting characters and story but a few historical inaccuracies.

Hot weather has finally said goodbye. Citrus are back in the Limonaia. I have my Fridstool back. Limonaia & Fridstool; words I learned from reading. "Fridstool is a seat of refuge, of sanctuary." My Fridstool is my Yoga Mat. ?â€â™€ï¸

Crinoline_Laphroaig Limonaia becomes a Cactus house in the Summer. Fall through Spring it's home to 4 Lemon trees, 4 Limes and various plants that can't survive winter in Oklahoma. Limonaia - "a garage-sized room on the side of the house once used for storing pots of lemons over the winter." ??? 5y

I can‘t believe I put this off for so long. Despite not being a Claire and Jaimie story, I still loved this book. I‘ll be the first to admit to not being the biggest fan of John grey, which is why I haven‘t read any of the other Lord John novels. I may actually look into those now.

Part of the Lord John series, this makes for a great companion novel for fans of Diana Gabaldon and her Outlander series. Set in 1760, the events that unfold in this story fall chronologically around the midpoint of her 3rd novel, Voyager, filling in some of the cracks of the years Jamie and Claire lived apart. Not as rich in history as some of her books, this story is full of political conspiracy, espionage, murder and swashbuckling adventure.

Wet as a bath sponge and mud to the knees but, aye, it was green enough."

@RealLifeReading #booktober #favoritefriendships Jamie Fraser a devout Catholic Scottish Rebel and John Grey an English Aristocrat Military man who is gay. Such unlikely friends, e.g., broken arms, captor/prisoner, man crush, yet out of that grows respect and a lifelong friendship. Such Loyalty.

My photo for the #augustphotochallenge #augustofpages today! Met Diana Gabaldon today at The Fergus Scottish Festival, and got her autograph for the tagged book! Was so excited!!! She is elegant as always! But a #uniquefact about me: I'll be going on 29 years of living a healthy and amazing life with Type 1 Diabetes! My insulin pump is also featured in the photo 😉

StellaDz @BooksTeasAndBookishThings it was amazing!!! Very quick but just awesome to be in the same room with her, let alone have a quick hello and photo with her! 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Oh my goodness, I bet! I wonder how much is in that Woman's head. I read all that history in her books on top of the fiction itself, and I think she must have all kinds of things jumbling around at any given point. 8y

StellaDz @BooksTeasAndBookishThings it was so awesome to hear about her writing technique. She doesn't do rough drafts, zero outline and she writes in pieces depending on what she's inspired by. Then she pieces it all together and comes up with these amazing books! Plus: no research assistant! Amazing!! 8y
StellaDz @TheSpinecrackersBookClub thanks! Total fan girl moment! 😃 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings That is awesome! I knew she was a genius, but I am really impressed by that 😊 8y
StellaDz @BooksTeasAndBookishThings that she is! Absolutely mind-blowing! 8y

Part of the lord John Grey series (#3) but I read throughout the regular outlander series. It doesn't include Claire so you can read it whenever. Makes you love Jamie even more!
