Blood and Sand
Blood and Sand | C. V. Wyk
The action-packed tale of a 17-year-old warrior princess and a handsome gladiator who dared take on the Roman Republicand gave rise to the legend of Spartacus... I mean this is kind of a basic book but sometimes that isn't bad. We all drink pumpkin spice lattes while wearing uggs with our hair in a messy bun sometimes *shrugs*

Clwojick 🤣🤣🤣 I love your review 💖 5y

What if Sparatcus was a woman??? Full of rich history and details about Roman life and culture, I thought this was a great YA novel. It‘s fast-paced with a lot of action and a strong female character.

Cinfhen Sounds good and I don‘t like YA! 6y
ElishaLovesBooks @Cinfhen I really enjoyed it BUT it is YA. 😎 6y
Cinfhen Nope, then!!!! Thanks 🙄if it really reads like YA I can‘t... 6y
ElishaLovesBooks @Cinfhen I know. . . that why I had put the disclaimer! 😁 6y

I‘ve been fighting a book slump. So I decided to read whatever caught my interest and so be it. I refuse to worry about books that were on hold that I haven‘t read yet and probably can‘t renew. Oh well. This book randomly caught my eye at the library and it‘s GOOD. The premise: “What if Spartacus was a woman?” 👊👊

juliannebenford I'm currently reading this and really enjoying it! 6y
ElishaLovesBooks @juliannebenford I‘m really liking it too! 6y

A decent 3.5 star read. A bit melodramatic at times, but I enjoyed reading it! Even though I only finished it last week I just realized that I've already forgotten the main characters name...probably not a good sign. 😬 But I do remember her being an unapologetic badass so that's something! A decent pick, but apparently fairly forgettable? Hoping the next installment is stronger!

I gave this book 4 out if 5 stars! The main character, Attia, has been my favorite character I've read about in a long time! She was fiesty while still maintaining a gentleness! She was everything a warrior princess should be! And Xanthus balances her out with his calm demeanor! That ending had me wanting to curl up in the fetal position... 😭
