A MYSTERY VICTIM A corpse is found: its identity extinguished in the most shocking manner imaginable. Detective Ian Bradshaw can't catch the killer if no one can ID the victim. Out there, somewhere, a missing young woman may hold the answers. A SECRET WEB Journalist Helen Norton is about to uncover a massive criminal conspiracy. She just needs the final piece of the puzzle. Soon, she will learn the price of the truth. AN 'INNOCENT' KILLER True-crime writer Tom Carney receives letters from a convicted murderer who insists he is innocent. His argument is persuasive - but psychopaths are often said to be charming... WHAT IS THE DARK THREAD RUNNING THROUGH THESE CRIMES? Praise for Howard Linskey: 'One of the best new writers around. This is a must-read series' Mark Billingham 'Linskey has taken a sharp swerve towards the big time ... He has elevated his writing to a level of complexity and humanity seldom approached by British writers previously. A new name on our criminal horizon' Maxim Jakubowski 'This is lacerating fare that makes most current crime fiction look like thin gruel' Financial Times 'Brilliant ... This is first class stuff, an unstoppable tale, a real page-turner not to be missed' Sarah Broadhurst 'Linskey delivers a flawless feel for time and place, mixed with unrelenting pace' The Times (Top Five Thrillers of the Year) 'Immensely satisfying, utterly compelling. Prepare to add another name to your must-read list' Eva Dolan

One of the books i finished over the weekend was second in this series about a police officer, reporter, and investigative journalist who having met in bk 1 combine again to find out what has happened to a young woman who has disappeared also why a local gangster, politician and builder meet for lunch. Set in the mid 90's this is an author whose thrillers i look forward to continue reading.

This was an awesome follow up to No Name Lane. Ian Bradshaw is coming into his own as a DS and is much more confident in this book. This book wasn‘t heart pounding fast but very enjoyable! Howard Linskey has a way with flowing everything together that makes his books great! 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨4.5/5🌟

Theo and I decided to try a different book. Had a hard time getting into Magpie Murders and it‘s me not the book. I enjoyed the first in this series so I‘m hoping this is just as good! 😊

Ms.Story This looks like a perfect October read! Looking forward to your review 😊 7y

@litmuggle tagged me for #5startbrpredictions #fivestartbrpredictions and this is what I have! I'm hoping to read these all before the end of the year! 😀 The Heart's Invisible Furies is up for this month on my #TBR along with Behind Dead Eyes. Better get to it! I want to see a few more Littens predictions so I'm tagging @RestlessFickleBookSlut @youneverarrived @Nitpickyabouttrains

litmuggle I tried the zoo keepers wife it was a dnf for me. I felt like it was just throwing facts at me and not telling a story. I like non fiction so hopefully it just wasn't for me. 7y
eanderson @litmuggle oh goodness! I'm not one for facts throwing when I'm in it for the story. 7y
Nitpickyabouttrains @litmuggle @eanderson I actually liked zoo keepers wife. I thought it did a good job of telling a larger story about Poland while focusing in on the main family. 7y
eanderson @Nitpickyabouttrains ok!!! Thank you! I'm definitely going to keep it on my TBR 🤗 7y
