Then the allusion to some type of obliteration clearly implied by the titled. A physical press. A mental squeeze. A loss of some necessary thing. Respect. Piece of mind. Dignity. Physical presence. Heart. Soul. Entire being. Everything. Then how to be whole again? How to recover? How to stand? How to still matter?👇🏽

Nute These words break the spirit. Erase the mind‘s comprehension. Push to panic. Slips the body beneath the inescapable weight of the earth and dares a breath. Drops the mind from a rock sheer and dares a thought. These words say that a person misunderstood or a love gone wrong or a need unrecognized and unfulfilled is a vortex or a vacuum or an empty sky or a long winding back road or an abyss. It‘s huge. It‘s vast. It‘s devoid. It is a crush!👇🏽 3y

Nute The body will be battered. The mind will be damaged. The soul will lose itself. A great suffering!
Yet, somehow it‘s a thing of motion and somehow you come out on the other side. Maybe different. Put back together with more parts. Maybe new. Reconstructed with fresh pieces. Deeper. Fuller. Thinner (is the fair?). Shinier. Better. Less. Altered (was that consensual?). Changed, yet, somehow still you!

Nute @vivastory Thank you!💕 This book of poetry brings out every emotion under the sun, Scott. It felt like life and death somehow existed within the same moment simultaneously in one entity. Maybe it does. We are living and dying at the same time at each second of our existence. All this while simply trying to love and be loved. I felt everything!😶 3y

Very intense, very good poetry. I honestly liked this more than I expected to; while some poems pulled me more than others, overall it's a collection well worth reading.

I think this would be a good companion to Maggie Stiefvater's Raven Cycle; I was frequently reminded of Ronan.

Clare-Dragonfly As a random side note, I didn't type "reading" very well the first time and it got autocorrected to "trashing." Really, Apple? Those words are not similar.

The worst part about devouring a book of poetry like this on the subway on your way to work is then having to get off and go about your life as if you weren't just ripped apart inside....
