Feminism
Feminism: A Beginner's Guide | Sally J. Scholz
3 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Feminism is arguably the most significant social movement of the last century and it is far from over. But what appears as a single, unified movement on behalf of women's liberation is really a fascinating coalition of social and political causes, goals, and ideals. By highlighting the themes that form the enduring nexuses between the three waves, taking powerful examples from feminist campaigns, and tackling timely issues such as genocide and war rape, Scholz invites us to join in with the lively debates and always germane challenges of feminism.

Jess7 I just bought this one - seems to have have a feminist theme from the description 6y
Jess7 This one is about a girl‘s equal rights to education in Pakistan 6y
Jess7 This one is primarily about race but does discuss feminism- it‘s a must read regardless 6y
Jess7 I also think this will too 6y
Jess7 I‘m reading this one as an ARC - it‘s not available yet but it‘s good - it‘s a book of poetry - “Women of Resistance - poems for a new feminism” 6y
Jess7 This will likely be about body shaming and confidence but she is a strong woman so I would expect it to touch on feminism - 6y
Jess7 This one is ok - 6y
Jess7 This work of fiction definitely had strong undertones of feminist themes as the main character was based on the real life Margaret Fishback - who was the highest paid female marketing person of her time 6y
Jess7 Haven‘t read this yet 6y
HeathersReadingHideaway @Jess7 I‘ve read a few of these! I‘ll have to look up the rest!! I wasn‘t a fan of the bell jar or Jane Eyre! I loved the handmaid‘s tale show but haven‘t read the book yet! And I loved I Am Malala and Bad Feminist. I thought Sex Object was okay. The rest are new to me I believe. (edited) 6y
Jess7 If you haven‘t read the ones by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - put those at the top of your list! 💙💙 #Feminist #Feminism #FeminismBooktag #FeministBooks #FeministBookList (edited) 6y
