Undecided: How to Ditch the Endless Quest for Perfect and Find the Careerand LifeThat's Right for You | Barbara Kelley, Shannon Kelley
3 posts
In a world of unprecedented opportunityand pressurewomen are struggling more than ever to make career decisions and move forward without second-guessing themselves. Young women graduate from college and believe they have to find the perfect path and then cant decide which way to go. Undecided is an invaluable guide to this cultural phenomenon of analysis paralysis. Looking at both what the media and academic studies have reported on women, careers, and particularly the undecided phenomenonas well as personal accounts from numerous womenmother and daughter Barbara and Shannon Kelley discuss how we got to this frustrating place, why it affects women in particular, and how todays culture fuels our fears and distractions. The Kelleys cast a critical eye upon the psychology behind the pressure to choose, and they argue that if women are going to succeed in rising above the often-crippling demands of the modern world they need to take action . . . starting with a serious shift in perspective.

#WeeklyForecast May 24-30
I read 3 books last week that were not on my WeeklyForecast and I‘m not sure how this week will go.
I‘m finding myself drawn to my physical bookshelves as opposed to what‘s on my Kindle or queued on Audible.
I like holding a book and turning the pages #OldSchoolReader 🤓
Need to work on my ARCs, so hopefully I‘ll get motivated to pick them up.
Happy Reading 📖 🌈💜

Megabooks I just went through that and am still a bit (physical books), but audiobooks are working some for how upset I am now. I‘m trying to process stuff. It‘s just so hard. 4y
Megabooks Sorry to be depressing. I did love Delicious Foods. I read it right around when it came out, then I listened to the audiobook later. Enjoyed both. 4y
Cinfhen It‘s pretty amazing that you can focus at all @Megabooks sending love 💕 last year when my hubby was in the hospital, I kept rereading the same paragraph over and over. My concentration was shit. Stay strong, we‘re all with you keeping your dad in our prayers. How‘s mom? 4y

Cinfhen I only read about 30 pages of Delicious Foods, I‘m not sure what to make of it yet @Megabooks it‘s a quirky original MC, for sure. 4y
Megabooks Mom is falling apart. Not totally, but she‘s super stoic, so the fact that she‘s crying at all (much less multiple times) is huge. I‘m trying to be the together one. We can‘t both fall apart so I‘m just trying to stay calm. Books are helping me stay sane. So is my Veterinary training, tbh. 4y
Cinfhen You‘re blessed to have a medical background @Megabooks lean on that knowledge and strength! YOU ARE STRONG 💪🏼 I‘m constantly amazed by your resilience and courage xx 4y
TrishB A good plan 👍🏻 think I‘ve followed my weekly forecast fully once. You just have to read where you want! 4y
Megabooks Thanks dear friend!! I am just trying to infuse every fiber of my being with hope. There have been so many great people, like you, that have stepped up for us, and I appreciate that. Plus, I have a wonderful BFF who is more like a sister, and she is the most calming, rational influence on me. Thank the college dormitory gods for putting us across the hall from each other. 🙏🏻 4y
Cinfhen Thank God for IRL friends @Megabooks what‘s new with dad ? 4y
Megabooks @Cinfhen I just made a post like an hour ago. It‘s on my page. Slight improvement and moving to a regular room!! 🎉🎉 Thanks for asking! 😘😘 4y
GatheringBooks I am an oldschool reader, too, that‘s for sure! But since it is hard to borrow physical books from the library here in UAE unlike when we were in singapore (not to mention the quarantine that closed down all libraries, never mind if they are well stocked or not), i had to rely increasingly on Overdrive. 😭 4y
Cinfhen I completely understand @gathering😩 4y

I'm undecided about which of these to read next. I've read the first few pages of Circe once or twice before and can't seem to get into it. What does everyone think? Has anyone read these other books yet?

phatsallylee Circe was a slow start for me so it is worth it to keep plodding along. Death on the patagonian sounds fantastic and i just added it to my tbr! 5y
MaGoose @phatsallylee Thanks! I was leaning towards that one myself. Although I may not be able to read it anytime soon. If you check my newest post, you'll see why. ☺ 5y

I love that #botm release day is like a holiday on Litsy. But seriously, which one (or two) should I go with? I'm planning on getting Lolly Willowes too because I'm intrigued with it being their first pick.

RiotMom 😂😂 it it definitely like a holiday! 7y
Reviewsbylola I am so torn. 😭😭 7y
Aswenson I got the 3 on the left, but the others were terribly tempting! 7y
