Buechersuechtling @Sace Know that I think about it … You‘re efinitely right! I mean, I‘m not using its German sister in every day life too much, either. 😊 But I like how the English brother sounds. And that obviously I have discovered the opposite for “opponent”, haven‘t I❓😃 Oh, you know, sometimes language is wonderful and leads to life being wonderful, too. 😍 3y
Buechersuechtling @Sace And now that we are talking about words and grammar … I will never get that apart with „neither“ and „either“.🙄 Was that sentence “I‘m not using its German sister in every day life too much, EITHER.” correct or is it supposed to be “I‘m not using its German sister in every day life too much, NEITHER.“❓ For me this is such a pitfall. 🤷🏽♀️ 3y
Sace @Buechersuechtling "either" is the grammatically correct word, but you will hear people using "neither". Technically not correct, but it's used. It would make an English teacher cringe though. I love learning about language/linguistics. ? 3y
