We celebrated my birthday again tonight and I decided to prepare one of my favorite desserts: cheesecake. 😍 Classic no bake cheesecake recipe with forest fruit topping. 😎

ReviewsbytheMrs Cheesecake is my favorite dessert too 💜 6y

I was so hooked by this story and I did not wanted to put it down until and unless I am done with the last page. Lately, I have been reading lot of YA books and kinda like'em

okay i can never recommend this book enough but seriously, i love it so frikkin much. i love when the family aspect is focused on in the book, and Wing's family is no exception. both her grandmas are amazing (and at times, hilarious) women.
just read it guys. i mean
bi-racial main character. such an adorable family. set in the 90s. jazzy magical realism vibes.

Fun? Absolutely! Good? Ehh, just ok. It's a solid 3/5- a bubblegum novel: bright and breezy and with little substance to speak of. It's a fun beach read, but little more. The author is all too fond of eye roll-worthy similes and can be far too heavy-handed with her exposition, and ultimately, it just felt like there were too many conveniences to make it as believable, and therefore genuinely feel-good, as ideal.

Honestly, it was the last 20 pages that made me really appreciate this book.

But for the first 360 pages, I felt really disconnected from the whole thing. I didn't particularly care about anyone and I wasn't invested.

I'm giving it a higher rating, though, because many people have loved it, and I do understand why. I just wasn't connected.

A beautiful story of coping with tragedy, finding your strength, and first love. Wing - throwing herself into running after disaster strikes her family - is a wonderful MC and her love interest is great. Even better, though, are her two grandmothers, one from Ghana and one from China, two fabulous characters! (And the windows into her two cultures they provide are fascinating.) This is gorgeously written too, a must-read for contemporary fans!

I absolutely loved this book for its family relationships and its portrayal of the world as diverse as it is. Wing is such a lovely and courageous protagonist you can't help but root for. Also some loving honourable mentions to the two grandmothers 😍🎉👍📚
