After church we went to eat at BK and look who I found in my kids meal. Sherlock Gnomes! Hubby was not impressed and rolled his eyes at me when I looked at him and said,”Elementary, my dear Watson!” #sherlockholmes #sundayfun #misquotedquotes

I really enjoyed these Sherlock stories. Even though they have been around for ages they still connected especially to the true crime fan in me.

Can't wait to start this beautifully, large book. My dad has been telling me to read it for months. I'm planning to get to it this summer!

Sherlock Holmes may never have been #Kingoftheworld but he was definitely the the king of my literary world. At around age 11, I fell in love with the stories and the character. That love never died and now I share it with my two kids.

This audio collection, superbly narrated by Simon Vance, is a delight for fans of Britain's most famous 19th-Century sleuth! I enjoyed learning new vocab. words & little details about life in late-19th-century London. There were a few lines that sounded sexist & even racist to my 21st-century ears, so that, too, was an education about attitudes in those times. Over 58 hrs.! Well worth 1 Audible credit! #ReadingAroundTheWorld 🤓🎻💡🗝🔍🎩👝

Moray_Reads I love this set, Simon Vance does a fantastic job 7y
LitHousewife I have to make time to listen to this. I ❤ Simon Vance. 7y
jessdean I think this is on my wish list 😊 7y

Andrew65 I'm working my way through this too. Simon Vance did a great job of narrating Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel. 7y
Louise Good to know! Thanks, @Andrew65 7y
Andrew65 @Louise I enjoyed it far more than Wolf Hall, which I didn't do as an audiobook. I felt he brought the book to life for me and his voice was just right! 7y
Louise @Andrew65 Yes, I think sometimes it really does bring a story to life when an excellent reader brings various accents, pacing, and personality to the characters. Simon Vance is wonderful. I could also listen to Neil Gaiman for hours on end! 7y
Andrew65 @Louise Will have for try him. 7y
Louise @Andrew65 Try Neverwhere! It's brilliant how Gaiman narrates it! Get the one that's simply read by Neil Gaiman, not the full cast production, if you would like a taste of Gaiman's great talent as a reader! 7y
Andrew65 @Louise Thanks for the recommendation, I will check it out. 7y

Got Jesse hooked on the idea of hammock camping and the complete Sherlock Holmes audio. Successful weekend. 🕵🏽‍♀️Also, we listened to it for at least four hours on 1.25 speed and barely made a dent.

The original and still the one for Holmes-fic writers to beat. My mom's old editions don't have anything on the covers, so here are the text-only spines too 😂🕵 #octphotochallenge #textonlycovers

This two-volume set was given to me by a friend way back in my college days. A classic that's been in my library ever since. "Well, I have a trade of my own. I'm a consulting detective, if you can understand what that is." --Holmes
