From ancient to modern times, the Chinese have celebrated an epicurean lifestyle, believing that food is not just meant to fill the stomach, but that an abundance of food denotes good fortune and that knowing what, and how, to eat is crucial to health.

Well Littens, I think I am going to try and finish my last book of the year tonight. We have opted to stay in tonight although my kids are all going out. It will be nice to have some 'grown up' time for a change 🤗 But before that....we have decided to treat ourselves and I spent the afternoon putting together a huge homemade Chinese food supper!! My place smells ah-maze-ing!! Stay safe and have fun all!!! #NewYears #itsgonnabesoquiet

Melissa_J We had Chinese food for dinner tonight, too, although ours wasn‘t homemade. Yours looks delicious 😋 6y

FantasyChick @Melissa_J I think it's a tradition to eat Chinese for New Year's! We always try but it costs so much for us to order in for 5 of us lol. Homemade might not be easier...but I don't have to cook tomorrow either! Lol #leftovers 6y
FantasyChick @BookishTrish Not going to lie...it was pretty good 🤗 And a Happy New Year to you as well 🎉🎉 6y
FantasyChick @Cailey_Mac It's not something I do a lot of (I hate cooking, lol) but it sure makes the minions happy 🤗 6y

#BookNDinner! Author edition. @BookBabe & I stopped by author Karl Petry's house for some chow while his wife went out with friends to see Celtic Women perform. Accompaniment: beef teriyaki on a stick; beef lo mein; white rice & soy sauce; veggie spring rolls; Coke. MMMmm 😋! Happy reads & happy eats 😎👌🏻! Throughout the meal, his three pumas kept attempting to see what we were eating 😸. P.S. Helpful tip: Chinese places don't serve tots! O_o
