Quirkybookworm I haven't heard anything from the person I did diwali swap with nor have I gotten anything. This is the second time I've been scammed out of a swap. The first time, I let it slide, but the second time within 2 months, not cool. I don't mind doing swaps. I love making others happy but when others don't respond back or fraudulently not do swap, it isn't nice. I'm just disappointed and sadden how some can abuse this place. This is my sanctuary. 5y

TheBookAddict @Quirkybookworm oh no. I‘ve participated in swaps plenty of times and I‘ve had good experiences, but this time around I have not received anything. I was hoping that when I got from work I‘d find a package waiting for me, but no luck. I also haven‘t seen the person I sent my package to post a picture at all. 😔 5y

TheBookAddict @Quirkybookworm I tracked the pkg and it said it got there on the 1st, but I haven‘t seen or heard anything from my swap partner 🤷🏽‍♀️. Well, it‘s been quite a disappointing swap. RinaBrahmbhattBarot @Quirkybookworm @TheBookAddict Hi Folks! It's not cool to receive books, and not send books! I'm sorry for the disappointment (it's not very nice). In the past swaps, I've been covering for those non senders, who happily received packages, and go all quiet. I'll chase them, and if they don't produce proof, I'll quite happily name them. TheBookAddict @MyBookSwapClub thanks for checking up on it. @Avanders it‘s is, but it will definitely not dampen my spirits because I‘ve gained some great friends through some of these swaps. @Quirkybookworm oh no, it‘s just terrible. This is my first time it‘s happened. I was in a postal book club this year and the person did not send my book back and she just won‘t answer any messages. 5y

erzascarletbookgasm @Quirkybookworm I just scroll and read this post. I‘m so sorry it happened to you twice within such a short span of time. It happened to me, twice, too and I know how disappointing it is. What I‘ve learnt is, the hosts or organisers of such swaps play a very important role and is a major factor in a successful swap. 5y

RinaBrahmbhattBarot @erzascarletbookgasm in my experience of hosting more than 5 swaps, we trust everyone and there is no way to tell that some people who will not send books. I'm not sure as a host what more can we do, and now thanks to @Avanders we've a list of people who didn't send the packages. (edited) 5y

erzascarletbookgasm @MyBookSwapClub It‘s great @Quirkybookworm has been sent her package finally. And that is exactly what I meant about the experience of the organisers. There is a ‘blacklist‘ Littens out there all this while, which organisers will check against before accepting anyone who sign up for the swap. Of course there is still the possibility of someone not on the list trying to be cheeky and not send anything but at least a precaution has been taken. 5y
