Sir Tony Robinson is a much-loved actor, presenter and author with a stellar career lasting over fifty years. Now, in his long-awaited autobiography, he reveals how the boy from South Woodford went from child stardom in the first stage production of Oliver!, a pint-sized pickpocket desperately bleaching his incipient moustache, to comedy icon Baldrick, the loyal servant and turnip aficionado in Blackadder. It wasn't all plain sailing though. Along the way he was bullied by Steve Marriott, failed to impress Liza Minnelli and was pushed into a stinking London dock by John Wayne. He also entertained us with Maid Marion and Her Merry Men (which he wrote and starred in) and coped manfully when locked naked outside a theatre in Lincoln during the live tour of comedy series Who Dares Wins. He presented Time Team for twenty years, watching countless gardens ruthlessly dug up in the name of archaeology, and risked life and limb filming The Worst Jobs in History. Packed full of incident and insight, No Cunning Plan is a funny, self-deprecating and always entertaining read.

#ShelfLove This is the top two tiers of my double stuffed #MountTBRShelvesOfDoom There‘s a lot of bookish goodness here too, though I sometimes forget what I have behind the first layer & have on one or two occasions bought a book I already had🤦🏻‍♀️I‘ve also had books go missing because it‘s so disorganised: case in point, I just found an hour ago my signed Ist Trade Edition Aus Cover Of Nevernight by Jay Kristoff which I‘ve been searching for!

Lizpixie Lucky coz that particular edition you can‘t find anywhere anymore, plus it‘s signed! So now, once Darkdawn is released, I‘ll have a full signed trilogy in those editions, a full signed trilogy of US hardcovers & a full signed set of UK hardcovers. I‘m a little bit Mia obsessed🗡🎭 5y

#SeptemberDanes #day8 #StupidMan Tony Robinson made his career playing a stupid man in Blackadder. If you don‘t know what that is, I highly suggest finding it & watching at least the 2nd or 3rd season(which are the best in my opinion) As Baldrick, the dogsbody to Lord Edmund Blackadder(Rowan Atkinson),his “cunning plans” cause chaos & madness in the Tudor court of Elizabeth I. Post comedy, he‘s the host of Time Team, making archeology cool again.
