#adventrecommends Day 8
I‘m recommending When She Was Good by Philip Roth for a couple of reasons, but particularly because this is Roth‘s only novel featuring a female protagonist. Plus, whether one likes him or not, Roth can write, tout court. This book was published in 1967 and it‘s set in the 1940s, but many of you will find that the story still resonates. Know any women who think they can “fix” men? Know what happened to them?

I'm a little bit obsessed with last week's episode of GIRLS, "American B****." 1) ❤️Matthew Rhys❤️ needs an Emmy, 2) the bookshelves in that apartment ?, 3) when Lena Dunham & Co. get it right, they really get it right. even if you've never seen a single episode of GIRLS, give this one a look! I've so gotta read the Roth novel from the ep.
