When the author stays out of his own way, this is an interesting look into the terrible actions of some women and what may have led them there. Too often, however, he is presenting things in a binary, losing all nuance, and presenting supposition as fact. At his worst, he is bashing feminists, conflating rape and sex while apologizing for rapists, and dripping with disdain for women. I will never read this author again.

I bailed on this about halfway through. I found the author‘s analysis of women distasteful and a little sexist. It left a bad enough taste in my mouth that I dreaded reading it, which meant it was time to bail.

I was browsing my shelves for a book for today's #LyricalApril theme of #GirlOnFire, and thought this might be a hot (get it?) take. I bought this YEARS ago when I thought I wanted to be a forensic psychologist (file under: things that never happened), but never read it. Might be worth revisiting, though?
