Difficult Women | Roxane Gay

Pickpick

Yes. Just, yes. If you're a fan of Roxane Gay and/or Bad Feminist, you will enjoy this book. It's for all the women out there dealing with heavy shit and continuing on in one way or another and being "difficult".

A-mazing! It took most of the book for me to get into it, but once I did. Wow. Especially with race relations being the way they are for the African American community and police. A must read.

It's Not Okay | Andi Dorfman

So much better than I expected. Funny. Real. Insightful into what happened between the bachelorette and her fiancé. I'd only say to pick this up if you're a fan of the show, or want to know what happened between Andi and Josh.

Interesting. Strange at first, but overall a good story about a woman taking her power back in a less then conventional way. Her story makes those around her question themselves and their beliefs.

Mehso-so

Nothing to write home about. Typical girl meets boy; they don't want to be together but they do want to be together and ultimately they get together during a really predictable story line.

Amazing! I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys Shondaland/TGIT. I would still recommend anyone who does not watch her shows but they will probably miss the references. Very empowering.

Pretty in Pink | H. B. Gilmour

Based on the John Hughes' screenplay for the 1986 film, Pretty In Pink. ❤️ "I live on the outside. There's something to be said for having nothing."

After all, she was a normal American herself once. That was a long time ago, of course. Before her parents died. Before she and the others were taken in by the man they called Father. #booksandwine
