Enjoyed the fictional version, Mrs M by the same author, so it‘s time for the actual historical account.

Don Dunstan was a visionary among Australian politicians. It‘s a shame there‘s not more writing about him.

There's a great story here I'm sure but this one seems to be aimed at the student of religious doctrine rather than the general reader.

What happens when tragedy strikes an Australian country town. Develops at the pace of life in a small town but kept me gripped right the way through.

An Australian classic and a little creepy so far. I could spend the day on the front deck reading if I didn't have to get home in time to work tomorrow.

Just how insane would you have to be to let one individual control 70% of your country's newspapers, let alone this individual?

Saw The Pretenders in Singapore in 2012. Even Chrissie Hynde said they were little more than a cover band by then but a great performance still. Surprised the book was quite a conventional, though insightful, autobiography. #music

One of a series of books about Australian capital cities by resident authors. I read this one after a month's working holiday in Australia's and, so it claims, the world's most isolated state capital.

MrBook Interesting. I read that Canada's NorthWest Territory capital might be the most isolated. 3y
gimboid Hawaii might get a mention too. Perth certainly has the feel of somewhere a long way from anywhere. 3y

Read the book after seeing the movie, like others here. I hadn't realised it was one of several short stories but I enjoyed most of them just as much.

Occasionally you run into someone who wants to tell you about their pal who wasn't such a bad guy after all, in fact he was a great person despite everything you've heard. This is a timely reminder that those people's views need to be treated with caution. An interesting first hand account nonetheless.

Frank and fearless account by a seriously underprepared hiker who found her way in the end. As much a story about getting life back in track as a literal hiking tale but a good read from both angles.

This is the story of 40 years of outstanding science reporting and of Australia's much admired science reporter, Robyn Williams. As a much needed counter to 'alternative facts' and the deliberate dissemination of misinformation by vested interests, the Science Show is in a class of its own. An entertaining read, I chose the audiobook version as it contained many excerpts from the radio program.
