Pickpick

I found this book in a Secondhand bookstore, the title' The lives they left behind ' made me curious... And what a breathtaking book it has turned out to be!
This is a transfixing and deeply sad book, and its genesis is breathtaking: the discovery of hundreds of suitcases in an attic of the abandoned Willard State Hospital in New York, and taken to the New York State Museum. .
Must Read!

The Mistress of Spices: A Novel | Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

Mehso-so

The Mistress of spices by By Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

The lure of a small island across the seas beckons, and Tilo calls on the ocean snakes to lay her at the feet of the Old One.

Divakaruni writes so lyrically and weaves her tale so intricately, you begin to believe in the spices and their healing properties. Immigrant experience is dealt with rather obliquely, buried in a wondrous fairy tale in sacks of aromatic spices.

We are already on the second weekend of March and I haven't posted my #reading list yet. Here's the list for this month
Which of these #books would you like to read?

Teipu I read both American Gods (which was awesome) and Kafka on the Shore (which I didn't really like). I have Norwegian Woods on my shelf, so I will read that one eventually too 😁 6y
book.s This is my first book by Neil Gaiman... And I am kinda impressed with his writing style 6y

The Fishermen: A Novel | Chigozie Obioma
Pickpick

The characters are described from the perspective of a 9 year old boy(Ben), often in metaphoric terms based on birds: one character is an eagle, another a falconer, still others egrets, and these magical descriptions show people in dimensions not often found in fiction.

The Fishermen is a dark yet flamboyant novel of a close-knit family that disintegrates because of a mad man.
