The Wide-Mouthed Frog by Keith Faulkner, Illustrated by Jonathan Lambert. Pop-up book. Incredible illustrations! ESOL 30: Encourage the use of diagrams and drawings as aids to identify concepts and seeing relationships. UDL 1.3: Offer alternatives for auditory information. https://www.tes.com/lessons/Xpintr96NIluUw/the-wide-mouthed-frog-kindergarten-we... Great crafts to help with choral reading, storytelling or dramatic read.

DrSpalding This was the actual version that I owned in my classroom library. Students love this story and it can be used in a science unit about the lifecycle of a frog. 6y

DrSpalding Many teachers choose to use the No David books as they are creating their classroom rules. 6y
DrSpalding Your summaries need to be a bit more detailed so that I know you read these books and could effectively share what they are about with students. 6y

Karlee.Diamond I loved this book as a kid! Who knew this was an autobiography! 6y
DrSpalding You must classify these according to the eight genres you learned in class. Saying it‘s fiction is not quite accurate. See your peer‘s post. 6y

Two Bobbies written by Kirby Larson and Illustrated by Jean Cassels. It is a NF through the eyes of two animals who survived hurricane Katrina. Very fun book to read to young students and great to discuss for text-to-reality purposes. Great for Read Aloud. UDL 7.2: Optimize relevance, value, and authenticity. EL 12: Teach 2 objectives, language and content.

Dbenford I like that the standards you used relate back to text-to-self connections for students. I think that you could do a lot with this book. Not only talking about hurricanes because we are in Florida but you could also relate this book to when students are in the stores with their parents and they run off and get lost or about friendship and what it feels like when your friends leave you. Good standards 6y
DrSpalding Be sure to add a website resource. The strategies and principles would work. 6y

Very short book set back in the early 1900's. Theme is rather dark for a children's book and includes sever depression and sickness, child abuse, and death at one point. Would probably work best with young adult readers when discussing elements of a story, but not good for younger readers.

DrSpalding This is a wonderful book that is still used in the intermediate grades. It's a classic. Good choice. Rubric? 7y
ismari212 I agree that it should be better with young adults 7y
HNager Connor, this is a great book to read aloud, for 6 grades and do a KWL chart each chapter. 7y

This "Research Guide" is a nonfiction companion book to the Magic Tree House story about the Titanic. Being nonfiction, you get over 100 pages of facts and history about the ship; that said it is a darker theme so not suited for the very young readers.

DrSpalding You're making excellent choices. Be sure to utilize the rubric. Sharing these as your book boost was a fabulous idea! The series can get children to read over 60 books! That's wonderful. 7y
ismari212 I love this book series and the titanic was one of my favorites 6y

At number 19 in the Magic Tree House series, this book is short and easy to read. Fun illustrations paint great pictures of the story and can make it easier for younger readers to follow and understand. Good book for read aloud or independent reading.

DrSpalding Be sure to use the rubric when posting. Notice how your peers have web resources, UDL and EL principles… You can do this! 7y
HNager Since you author study and the review of this book, I want to read some of the Magic Treehouse series. 6y
