Well I have to say that I‘m glad I didn‘t dump this book. It‘s actually a really great read. It‘s a bit of slow start but it picks up towards the middle and then I was hooked. I didn‘t expect the twists and turns that the author took me on, but as we reached the end I caught myself with my fingers crossed that the main characters made it through till the end.

BrielleR Maybe I‘m too much of a realist, but so far this book is a little too unrealistic for my taste. These two characters from different walks of life met nearly three days ago and the guy is already talking about forever? Yeesh. Here‘s hoping it gets a little more realistic. 7y

Whoa!!! Okay, so this is probably one of the best hang on the edge of your seat books I've read in a long time! Louise, Adele, and David... how are their lives so intertwined? How does Rob fit into all this? The last chapter just threw my whole idea of the book up in the air and explained everything that I couldn't seem to figure out. Lucid dreaming, lust, love, betrayal... I can definitely say that I know what kind of genre I like for a good book

DrSpalding Sounds like a great adult summer read Brielle! Adding it to my stack! 7y
BrielleR @DrSpalding thank you!! I highly recommend it!! Hope you're having a wonderful Summer! 7y

The Couple Next Door | Shari Lapena
Mehso-so

This was an interesting read. The author wrote it as if you were a shadow behind each character, hearing about all their trials and errors. There's a huge twist at the end and it took me a while to get into the book but I pushed through and finished it. A young couple's baby is kidnapped while they're next door at a party; but it is more than what meets the eye!

DrSpalding Sounds like a good book @BrielleR 📚 Keep reading and posting! 7y
BrielleR @DrSpalding I'm just beginning to read Behind her eyes" by Sarah Pinborough! Love how I can read a lot during the summer! 7y

DrSpalding Look at that farm! So fun! 7y
BrielleR @DrSpalding it was an awesome realistic play game! We put the pigs in a mud pen, the cows in the grass and the swans in the pond! ❤️ 7y

One of my childhood books that I've had for almost 20 years! A narrative poem about a little boy and an apple tree. As the boy ages, the tree keeps on giving and giving what the tree has to the boy. An interesting fact is that this book is on the banned book list! It is one of my favorite Shel Silverstein books. He the writer & illustrator for all his work. Caps! Caps for sale! I remember my parents reading this to me as a little girl!! This is a lovely (traditional literature?) book where a peddler travels through town selling his caps. When he goes to take a snooze, monkeys get into some monkey business! This is a great book for a classroom read-aloud. Written & illustrated by Esphyr Slobodkinda. For more monkey business check out: https://www.readinga-z.com/book.php?id=1489 #ucflae3414sp17

Devil's Arithmetic | Jane Yolen

Mehso-so

Well. This was probably one of the hardest books to read since I read The Kite Runner. This is historical fiction. A girl named Hannah gets transported back into time right before WWII. She is then Chaya, a Jewish farm girl who's got memories of being Hannah, & knows that Nazi's are dangerous & that they all shouldn't get on the trains... As the story progresses she slowly forgets who she used to be... check out: www.janeyolen.com #ucflae3414sp17

CaitlinPVeal This sounds super interesting! Do you think this would be good for a 6th grade classroom? I think it would be a great lit circle book if so! I also like that you put the authors website. 7y
BrielleR @CaitlinPVeal I think it is appropriate for 6th graders! I think it's a great book to use for literature circles! 7y

I loved this book. An Animal Fantasy (AF), Newbery Metal award winning book based off a real Gorilla named Ivan who was moved to Zoo Atlanta (in real life, although he passed) While reading this book, my heart ached for Ivan, Stella (RIP💔) and Ruby. Katherine Applegate did an amazing job creating a story for Ivan that really can teach young children about animals in captivity. For more info check out: http://theoneandonlyivan.com/ #UCFLAE3414sp17

DrSpalding Sorry to share the sad news but the real Ivan passed away a few years ago. RIP IVAN! 7y

Realistic Fiction (RF) Wonder is "a beautiful, funny & sometimes sob-making story of a quiet transformation." -The WSJ. This is exactly that. I found my self tearing up on one page & then the very next page had me chuckling. I want a friend like August Pullman. You build such a strong connection to the characters and can visualize the world that R.J Palacio has created. I feel lucky to have read this book, Gatsby the cat agrees. #ucflae3414sp17

DrSpalding Gatsby's lone stray tooth is cracking me up! Love cats and love Wonder! 7y
LaurenMcl This book was amazing and it is a book every person should read. My son read it along with me and it is just one of those books that really makes you think. 7y
