Audiobook. "Re-reading" for the second time. The first two times I read it in March, so I've jumped the gun a bit this time around, but I felt like I needed to hear it again.
I love this book so much! I loved physically reading it the first time, but there's something about all those magical descriptions that is just so well suited to being read aloud.

I loved this book! I don't *enjoy* crying while reading, but I know it's a good book if it makes me cry.

This book is pretty cute, I'm glad I have some more in the series to read, eventually.

I really enjoyed this book. The cover is what drew me in, and discovering it was a Canadian story, and had been made into a movie, I immediately needed to know more. I watched the trailer and fell in love. Then read the book and realized the trailer lied. But I still loved the book! Now I'm just dying to watch the movie and see just how different they really are!

Finally got my paperback copy of this beauty a week or so ago, and since the monthly challenge for May in one of my book groups (TBR and Beyond on Facebook, check us out!) is middle grade books, I am ALL OVER this one first! Loving it so far!

I really wanted to love this book (I mean, look at it!?;?), but I just didn't. ? The story was just "ok"; the characters were fine, but I didn't feel drawn in enough to care for them... The imagery and flower descriptions are beautiful, no question about that. But the overall story was just... Meh.

I liked this book quite a bit, but the ending made me angry. There were a couple twists: one I had seen a spoiler about so I knew it was coming, but the second I didn't see coming and it hurt.

I'm not gonna lie to you guys, I've developed a bit of a crush on Cormoran Strike. And I'm totally shipping Cormoran and Robin. Does it happen in the next book? Does it?!
Anyway, this is a really great murder mystery series. This one was a tad darker and more grisly than the first, but I still enjoyed it.

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage Who is that Pop figure? 😊 6y
BookendsAndDaydreams @BookHoarder32 It is Harvey Bullock from the show Gotham ☺️ He's how I picture Strike. 6y

I had never heard of this series, but "garage sale mystery" intrigued me so I picked this one up for 25¢. It's a pretty typical murder mystery pocket paperback. It is book 4, so I was kind of missing some of the history between characters, but it reads pretty well. No real romance, just a good old mystery. ?

Oh man, this book! So many people raved about it, so I was anxious to get to it. Then I started and it had a really slow start for me. I liked it ok, but I wasn't in love with and almost had to force myself to keep going. After about 3/4 I was getting into it, and then that ending... I get it. I get the rave reviews. All the bloody feelings!!!

I enjoyed this book, I think it was a good debut into YA dystopian for a contemporary romance author.

It's hard to imagine where/when the story takes place as there is no year mentioned, the world seems very much like our own today, and there has been no major world war to provoke a system upheaval.

It ended far too abruptly in a clean little package that screams "SEQUEL!" Overall, an interesting dystopian read.

I loved this book! I went in with certain expectations, having read Matt Haig's "The Radleys." It is geared toward a younger audience, but I enjoyed the playful silliness, and the awesome illustrations (when was the last time I read a book with illustrations?!)
I think it's an excellent retelling of the story of Father Christmas, and Matt did a great job of tying everything together. :)
New Christmas tradition!

Sassy_Steph Is this book ok for my niece who still believes in Santa to read? 7y

*sigh* It took a while, but I finally finished The Order of the Phoenix and just... wow. I teared up at the end. So much more action than the previous books, and it's really long, but it's such a great story, it's worth it.

So this book didn't really meet my expectations. I was expecting it to be like The Fault in Our Stars, which it is not.
It's an ok read. The characters are interesting and likeable, but I found the ending left me unsatisfied. See my blog for a bit longer review.

I love Louise Penny's books, and this one was no different. The story was captivating, the new characters interesting, and the ending somewhat surprising. At one point the progress of the story felt slow, and there's a spelling error that bothered me, but all that aside, it's a great murder mystery/ crime fiction read!
