My current read. Enjoying this spin on the Lois Lane-Superman/Clark Kent/Smallville story.

Everything Is Illuminated | Jonathan Safran Foer
Pickpick

I'm not sure if this book is #underhyped, but until everyone has read it, I'm repping it forever. Foer beautifully intertwines stories from the past and present in a family narrative that's hilarious, historical and devastating all at the same time. Something about Foer's writing is so personal and eloquent- I can't help but love this book. #SammyDavisJrJr

shawnmooney I liked this book a lot, and don't thnk he's written anything since that is as good. The opening paragraph is my favorite in all of literature! 8y
gibblr I remember loving it when I read it, but that was awhile ago. Maybe I'll have to read it again sometime. 8y
Suzze Another book I have always meant to read. Just added it to my library list. 8y

I loooooove this super original series by Rosemary Kirstein! I'm waiting with bated breath and all the crossed fingers for the next in the series. Awesome female main characters, a bit of mystery, a bit of SF, a bit of fantasy - it rings all my bells! #underhyped #augustofpages #bookphotochallenge

This is such a kickass piece of historical fiction I'm shocked it didn't get more attention when it came out. Absolutely one of my favorite reads of 2015. 💪🏻👊🏻#underhyped #augustphotochallenge

Bibliogeekery Wow! This book sounds so great! With an endorsement by Sarah Waters on the front, no less! Thanks for drawing my attention to it. Sounds right up my alley! 8y

What do you get when you pair up a self-help author and a screenwriter? A very cool and inspiring yet #underhyped mystery series with a New Age spin. The main character is Tenzing (Ten) Norbu, a ex Buddhist monk turned private eye. I've read all 4 rules books and I'd give them a 10. 😉 Good stories with a life lessons to ponder. Just picked up the latest one pictured here. #augustphotochallenge @TheSpinecrackersBookClub

My pick for #underhyped books! This memoir recounts the author's teenage years in 70s & 80s in South Korea struggling to overcome poverty. It's a coming of age for both the author and the country. It's beautifully written tho a bit bleak a times. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Korean history or Asian fiction. #memoirs #translatedbooks #readwomen

Shades of Grey: A Novel | Jasper Fforde

#underhyped books for all ages for today's #augustphotochallenge. Shades of Grey - a Monty Pythonesque dystopian novel with unfortunate timing (that name!) and awful cover art (at least my copy). Finding Audrey - sweet book for teens and tweens. I even picked up some tips on talking about anxiety with my kids. Odd and the Frost Giants - Gaiman writes a story about Norse mythology! My kids' favorite Gaiman.
