I liked this slow burn, Gothic novel. My biggest problem was keeping track of all the male characters, which was important in order to follow the plot. Might‘ve been easier in print, vs. audio.

Next up on audiobook. I listened to Furiously Happy earlier this year and laughed my ass off so decided to listen to Jenny Lawson's other books. The past couple of weeks have been rough mentally so I figured I need a few good laughs.
My first Aardvark box and I am not at all disappointed 🤩🥳👏💃💯
This book was just plain silly, and I don‘t mean that in a good way. I‘m not sure about the point the author was trying to make other than anti-LGBTQ politicians who are gay are hypocrites. 🤷🏻♀️
A closeted gay Republican congressman has just been sent a stuffed aardvark from his secret lover who just committed suicide. Meanwhile the parallel story of the taxidermist who stuffed it in the 19th c is told. See, weird but not funny…👎🏻👎🏻
First 2023 start and finish! And it‘s a good one!! 🎉
I‘ve had this one on my shelf for ages. I‘m not usually one for multi generational family drama, but this one was off the rails and disaster-y enough to hold me through. Or my tastes are changing. Who knows!
My first #aardvark box has arrived and what a pretty box it is! Plus it arrived sooner than I expected, which is always a pleasant surprise and particularly so this time of year. I‘ve been disappointed by a couple book clubs recently, so it‘s nice to have my expectations exceeded!
