Lovely Sunday morning reading ❤️

blurb
Suetara

My mom passed away yesterday afternoon. She was a voracious reader and always encouraged my sister and me to read. She was the coolest mom when I was in junior high because she bought Judy Blume‘s books for me when other parents wanted them removed from school libraries. My copy of Are You There God? It‘s Me, Margaret was borrowed by a lot of my friends whose moms were not as open minded.

LeahBergen Oh, I‘m so sorry for your loss. She sounds like a truly wonderful mother. 💔💔💔 5y

This is one of the most comforting books I‘ve read, which is surprising since a lot of the subject matter is very heavy. The 50 stories in this book are snippets of recorded verbal conversations from the StoryCorps project, so at times I think the book suffers because you can‘t hear the voices. I also found myself wanting more of certain stories. The stories vary in subject matter and theme but it‘s very easy to find relatable, touching bits.

What a beautiful memory and thing to remember. Even at our worst moments, we can find joy.

Our Nevada county reads book for next year. A very touching little book. I must have looked like a crazy person while reading it in the break room 😜

This was the summer reading selection for the college where I work. I enjoy StoryCorps books because they prove everyone has a story to tell. It was fun and inspiring to read how different people found their professional callings. It is an easy read because each story is only a few pages long, so you can dip in and out of the book. I think everyone could find someone to relate to in this.

So I did this today! StoryCorps was in town and my husband and I did an interview. It may never make the radio but we have an official certificate that interview will be archived in the library of Congress. #nprfangirl #storytelling

DivineDiana What was the subject of your story? 6y
Blaire @DivineDiana my daughter has a rare chromosomal disorder and we talked about the impact of the diagnosis on our family and our approach to life. 6y
DivineDiana I am glad you were able to tell her story. 💗 6y
Blaire @DivineDiana thank you! 🙏 6y

The second of two audiobooks i finished today. I wanted this to be longer, and I wanted it to be full stories, not just snippets.
