This graphic novel gives us a glimpse into someone who may look different from his classmates on the outside, but longs to just fit in. It‘s a painful place to be, especially as a kid. Anyone who has felt like they had to hide some part of themselves in order to avoid bullying, will find a kindred spirit here. It‘s a chance to step into someone else‘s shoes for a moment and hopefully gain some empathy for someone who might be different from you.

Lindy It‘s a classic. 💛 3w
AvidReader25 @Lindy I should have read it earlier! 3w

4 ⭐This book is simple but perfect. It gives each color and that it is for boys and girls, or for girls and boys. It‘s also for something you see in society. Things like brown is for teddy bears and green is for glass. This book makes sure to say that all colors are for everyone, and that pink is not just a girl‘s color and blues is not just a boys colors. Colors are for everyone. An important lesson for the modern US society.

Finished my 4th read for #SummerEndReadathon just in time for tonight's book club meeting (International Journey Through Pages Book Club: https://meetu.ps/e/Mnp5d/zxXbQ/i). This is a graphic novel, which is not my typical reading format, but I absolutely loved this. It was funny but also had an amazing message.

Fall is almost here! 🍁 But we‘ve still got a little summer left here in OK. Excited for cooler temps and football, but not for darker evenings. 🌅 Less time for reading outdoors after work makes me sad, but it‘s a trade off for less sweating and less mosquitos & flies. This was a Litsy pick a few months back from @ravenlee and I‘ve been meaning to pick it up from the library since then. Excited to start it tonight!

ravenlee I hope you like it! It looks like one more sweltering day here in NWLA, too, and then maybe some cooler days starting tomorrow. 🤞🏻 8mo

The online book club that I lead is discussing the tagged book in one week (Asian American author), so it is probably time for me to start reading the book 😀. #SummerEndReadathon @TheSpineView

Enjoyed the general story but found the ending a little abrupt.

#SummerSpecial Day 26: #UncleAunt - while the book is about aunts, and how incredibly diverse they are, the story ends with the uncles coming. 💕 There is constant movement, flux, high energy – pretty much what happens when family and friends come to visit for short (or long) vacations, and how they take over one‘s home for a period of time. My review of this super fun book: https://wp.me/pDlzr-psX
