I had two summer reading coupons left over for our library store that I needed to hurry up and use. Grabbed these #blameitonlitsy books.

📖 No Unhallowed Hand (The Work and the Glory 7) by Gerald Lund

This took way longer to read than it should have. Disappointing read until last 50-ish pages. Don‘t think I‘ll be reading the rest of the series unless I hear some REALLY great things about it from y‘all 🫤

Book two of the Left Behind series for #SeriesLove2025.
I felt an urge to finish/reread this series from recent events. I've only made it 2/3 of the way through the series and it's been long enough that I need to start over rather than continuing. @Andrew65

This was a great retelling of the Biblical story of Tamar.

Fourteen year old Tamar is betrothed to Ur, the son of Judah. She is terribly mistreated by her husband and mother in law.

Worst of all, she is left widowed and childless.

Tamar does what she feels is best to insure an heir for the family of Judah.

A really soft pick. It started with a lot of promise, but it felt too long after a while. I was skimming a lot at the end.

I like this book, but did the author have to include a “let‘s help you lose weight to be pretty” make over? I expect it in my #PaperbackCrush books but not a book from 2011 (or am I naive?

My friend saw this at a library sale and read and loved it years ago. She surprised me with it today just bc she thought I‘d like it :)
