Wuthering Heights | Emily Bront

#photoadaynov16 #readitinschool
I've had to read so many books throughout my school years. Wuthering Heights was one of my favorites. I actually hated it at first until my second read through and discussing it in class.

I also loved 1984 by George Orwell and have read it many times since school.

#readitinschool in grade 5. Didn't feel too much for it at the time. Re-read it later on though, definately a solid piece of writing. I would read this to my kids (when or if I have them) for sure. #childhood #muchlove #aphotoadaynov16

Books on top of books. 📚#readitinschool

GoldenGirl I began this book a few months ago and had to let it go. It was just too slow and I didn't like Garp's mom at all. Nice pic though! 7y
CoffeeBooksRepeat I hear you. It took me a looooong long time to get through the entire thing. ?Once I did it reminded me of the movie "Forest Gump". They both lived such unconventional lives. @GoldenGirl 7y

Does Heart of Darkness count as #whenworldscollide for #novemberland #day6 @TizJ3ss Also #readitinschool for #photoadaynov16 @RealLifeReading This is actually a 1963 Norton edition that an English prof. friend of my mother's gave me. Has his underlining and notes in it.

Leniverse You have the best editions of everything! 7y
Seshat Thanks, @Leniverse! 7y
TizJ3ss I definitely think this counts! The worlds can be real! 7y

When I first read The Glass Menagerie, I connected with Laura, but after watching the movie and going to a performance of the play, I felt a stronger connection to Tom. I haven't read it in years so I wonder how I would feel about the characters now? #readitinschool #photoadaynov16

Doing a family read aloud on the car ride back home from Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Took a break from reading as we crossed The Mackinac Bridge for a photo. Also works for #readitinschool ⛺️🌉🌈⛅️🔥🍁📚

Suzze Oh! I am jealous. The UP is my favorite place in the world. Any Northern Lights up there? I watched them build that bridge in the 50's. 🌉🌉 7y
HeathHof @Suzze Mine too!! I would so love to live there! No northern lights this trip but the stars were so beautiful and bright that you could see them reflecting off the tahquamenon river, and there were also quite a few shooting stars 🌠💛That's awesome that you got to see the bridge being built! 7y
quirkyreader Going across that bridge freaks me out. A friend and I were going across in a windstorm and the bridge wouldn't stop moving. I was glad to be back on solid ground. 7y

#readitinschool. So many of the books I read in school I didn't really appreciate until I read them again and started teaching them. This is just one example. #photoadaynov16 @RealLifeReading

Alfoster My all time favorite one to teach!! 7y
ErinC I no longer teach it since I only teach juniors and seniors now, but it used to be one of mine too. When even the the "I hate to read" boys get into a book, I usually have fun teaching it! 7y

Pickpick

It's not easy to remember books read *in* school, but these came back to me. I LOVED this one by Barbara Wallace, probably the first Gothic style mystery I ever touched. Old people and mean caretakers and young waifs! So Edward Gorey but less grim. :)
